WARSAW THUNDER IS IN ITS SEVENTH SEASON AS A FASTPITCH GIRLS TRAVEL SOFTBALL PROGRAM.THUNDER IS IN A REBUILDING STAGE WITH A 8 AND UNDER COACH PITCH TEAM PLAYING LOCAL COMPETITION. IN THE FALL OF 2008 WE PLAN ON EXPANDING WITH DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS AS WE HAVE HAD IN THE PAST. Tuesday, July 1 2009 10U and 8U Team Organization and Try-outs Sunday September 14th Warsaw Thunder will be having their try-outs/organization of their 10 and under and 8 and under teams. This will be held at the softball field behind the Warsaw High School. 8 and under coach pitch from 4-5pm and 10 and under from 5-6:30pm. 10U-playing in either local league or MGSL 2-4 tournaments 8U-local games and 1-2 tournaments-last year this team played coach pitch against Attica 8U and Avon 9U for a 14 game schedule . They finished out the year playing a player pitch 9u tournament in Wellsville. Players are encouraged to preregister by calling Rob Kersch at (585) 786-0522. Fundraising will be made available for both teams.

Proformance Sports Training, located in Amherst NY, is a group of strength and conditioning experts, physical therapists, and sports medicine doctors dedicated to improving the physical performance of athletes. Owner Director John Opfer has worked with the Cleveland Indians, Buffalo Bills, University of Tenn. , and the University of Buffalo. He is a trainer to the NFL, MLB, NCAA, and Olympic Track Federation Athletes. He is certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Assoc. , USA Track and Field, and USA Weight Lifting Federation Sports Performance. SUNY Geneseo is a Division III school that competes in the SUNYAC conference coached by Head Coach Tony Ciccarello. The clinic will be put on by the Geneseo players and coaches. Clinic will be focused on offensive drills, defensive drills, and pitching. The clinic will end up with a question and answer session on recruitment for the high school players. Cost-$40 Warsaw High School Gym from 10am-1pm Ages 8-18
For all clinics a check made out to Warsaw Thunder Softball will hold your spot. Send checks to Warsaw Thunder Softball, 76 Center Street, Warsaw NY 14569. Enclosed with the check, on a sheet of paper, include your name, age, email, phone number, and address. You will then receive a release form to complete and bring with you to the clinic. Saturday, May 3 PITCHING CLINIC Due to rain and cold the pitching clinic has been moved to Sunday, June 1st at 1:00pm.
Our pitching Clinic will be held on Sunday May 18th at 10:30am on our field. The clinic will put on by Dave Sylvester of Maximum Velocity in Perry, NY. Players need to bring a person to catch for them. The clinic will be a hour and a half long and will cost $10. Please get your payment to Coach Rob as soon as you can. Tuesday, May 27 NEW ERA SOFTBALL CLINIC FOUR DAY SOFTBALL CAMP New Era Park and the Baseball Academy of WNY have teamed up for two 4-day summer softball camps for ages 7 thru 14 at the New Era Park Lockport Facility, 6856 S. Transit Rd, Lockport and one 4-day summer softball camp at the New Era Park Blasdell Facility, 4817 Lake Ave, Blasdell. Lockport Week 1: July 28th thru July 31st. Week 2: August 11th thru August 14th. Blasdell: August 4th thru August 7th. Camps run 8:30am to 3:00pm each day. Camp highlights include skills development, games and competition.
