Sunday, March 16Cabin Fever Tournament Results
The Cobras finished 3rd this weekend at Cabin Fever. We went 2-1 on Saturday in pool play qualifying us as the #1 seed in the "A" bracket giving us a first round bye in Sunday bracket play. We defeated the Backriver Surge 12-0 and the Vienna Stars '97 5-2. Our lone loss was to the Smithfield Galaxy 5-2.
On Sunday we lost a tough one to the eventual Tournament Champs, the Triple Threat Lady Tigers, 3-0 in the second round of bracket play. Congratulations to the Lady Tigers on their tournament win!
Our pitchers combined for a total of 10 runs allowed in all games combined. Great job Rachel and Ryn!

Don't Come Crying to Mama Tournament
The Cobras dominated this past weekend at the USSSA Don't Come Crying to Mama Tournament held at the Stoney Run Complex in Newport News. We went 3-0 in pool play on Saturday defeating the Stingrays 18-1, the Lady Bombers 4-0, and the Williamsburg Starz 14-1. Our pitchers, Ryn and Cassidy, combined for 23 K's and allowed only 2 runs in all 3 games. Sunday's bracket games were rained out so the girls took home 2nd Place honors as results were based on runs allowed. Congratulations to the Tigers for taking first and great job Cobras for an awesome job on Saturday!
Monday, April 21
April Showdown Tournament
The Cobras hit the road for their first travel tournament of the year April 19th to play in the USFA April Showdown Tournament in Nashville, North Carolina. The Cobras went 2-1 beating the Triangle Lighting 14-2 in the first game, beating the Carolina Screamers Blue 6-5 in the second game, and losing to the Camden Crushers 3-1 in the third game. Sunday's games were all rained out which has become the norm this spring.
Rachel, Cassidy, and Ryn combined to allow a total of 7 runs on Saturday. Great job girls.

Cobras take 1st Place at Mama Open!
The Cobras took home the Championship at the USSSA Mama Open Tournament this past weekend at Princess Ann Park in Va Beach. The Cobras went 2-0-1 beating the Lady Bombers in the Championship Game 8-0. Cobras pitchers gave up a total 5 runs during the entire tournament. Congratulations Cassidy, Sarah, and Ryn.

USSSA Battle at the Beach Tournament!
The Cobras took 3rd place this past weekend at the USSSA Battle at the Beach Tourney at Princess Ann Park in Va Beach. The Cobras went undefeated in Pool Play on Saturday outscoring all teams 42-0. The Cobras met the Lady Bombers in the semis on Sunday losing a tough battle 3-2.
Monday, June 2
NSA Colonial Invitational Tournament
The Cobras fought off scorching 100 degree heat this past weekend in taking home 3rd place at the Colonial Invitational Tournament in Williamsburg, VA. The Cobras went 2-1 in Saturday Pool Play defeating the VA Heat 7-2 and the HR Hurricanes 14-2 before losing to a tough Lady Tiger team 10-1.
The Cobras came back Sunday morning and defeated the Yorktown Revolution 6-2 in the first round of bracket play before losing to the Smithfield Galaxy 8-1 in the semi-finals. It was a great weekend of softball!

USSSA State Tournament
The Cobras played in the USSSA State Tournament this past weekend at Stoney Run in Newport News. The girls fought hard and managed a 4th place finish against some of the toughest teams in the area. Great job Cobras!
Monday, July 7
Pony State Tournament in Smithfield!
The Cobras will be played in the Pony State Tournament this past weekend in Smithfield, VA. The girls will be battled hard against some of the toughest teams in the state. The Cobras went 1-2 in Saturday pool play and lost Sunday morning to the Vienna Stars 97 team.

Coventry Commonwealth Games
The Cobras wound up the Spring 2008 Season with a 2nd place finish in the Coventry Commonwealth Games this past weekend in Roanoke, VA. The girls played their hearts out going 2-0-1 on Saturday and 2-1 on Sunday. The only loss came in the championship game against the Smithfield Galaxy.
Sydney, Rachel, and Sarah allowed a total of 10 runs in all 6 games played this weekend while the offense garnered a total of 50 runs. It was a great weekend as the bats came alive!
