Brent Fisher: In his second tour of the Arizona League, Fisher was arguably the league’s most dominant pitcher. Prior to his late-season promotion to Idaho Falls, the 19-year-old lefty pitched 68.1 innings for the AZ Royals while compiling an ERA of 2.11 and striking out 98 batters, which was 34 more punchouts than anyone else in the league. He allowed just 41 hits and walked only 19 for a league-leading WHIP of 0.88, and he was third in the AZL in both ERA and innings pitched. His success built upon an impressive 2005 debut (5-2, 3.04, 69 K in 50 IP), and although his return to Arizona this season had to be a personal disappointment, Fisher responded with a performance that places him among the best in the organization.

Kansas City Royals take Fisher in 7th round of 2005 MLB Draft
Brent Fisher has now become arguably the best player to wear the maroon and gold of Tolleson High School. Brent was selected by the KC Royals on the first day of the major league baseball draft. Brent was the second selection in the 7th round. After 1 day of contract negotiations Brent and Royals agreed on a signing bonus that would include 4yrs. of paid college tuition that would match what his scholarship was going to be worth at UNM, plus a 6 figure signing bonus. This concludes a legendary career for Brent at Tolleson High School, and hopefully the beginning of a long successful career in baseball. Congrats go our to Brent and the rest of the Fisher family.
