DFW Hockey Teams
Organizational Beliefs and Philosophy
We believe there are many excellent local hockey organizations, coaches, and players in the DFW area. What differentiates our organization from the others in town? The Aces believe in:
- DFW Metroplex-based hockey at the Travel Level
- We develop very competitive teams without traveling all over the country
- Provides a more manageable supplement to High School and JV teams
- In 2003-2004, 5 of our 7 Texoma league teams qualified for league playoffs
- In 2004, we helped pioneer the formation of the North Texas Hockey League, a DFW-based "local travel" league
- Qualified Coaches
- All coaches are USA Hockey certified for their teams level and must pass background checks annually
- Broad base of talented parent coaches reduces cost
- Increased level of family feel to organization
- Ice Time
- Not win-at-all-cost; rather compete-at-all-cost
- As much as practical, allow players to experience critical game situations and build confidence
- Developmental Emphasis
- Goalie clinics paid for by the organization
- Hockey-specific off-ice training with focus on injury prevention & improved performance
- Efficient use of practice ice time
- Family-friendly Approach
- Travel-averse for cost and family scheduling reasons
- Low-key (and low-cost) summer programs to allow for downtime, family vacations, and other sports
- Value for the Money
- Elite teams are not subsidized by other teams
- Budget intended to represent entire cost; no monthly fees
- No fundraising required to meet operating budget
