Welcome to the TAYHA website!
Established in 1949, Troy - Albany Youth Hockey has evolved into a multi-divisional program providing an environment for boys & girls in "Pursuit of Excellence" on and off the ice. Over the years, TAYHA has provided thousands of children the opportunity to play recreational and competitve, select team hockey. Many TAYHA alumni have gone on to play highschool, college and professional hockey. Among our alumni are NHL standouts, Rich Brennan, Guy Hebert, Dave Reece, Craig Darby, Matt Murley, Marc Cavosie and Coach Ned Harkness, who was also one of TAYHA's founding fathers. While we are justifiably proud of their accomplishments, we are equally proud of the thousands of boys and girls who have come to TAYHA to work hard, and develop the skills needed to succeed on and off the ice. TAYHA is a member of the New York State Amateur Hockey Association and is Tournament Bound at the Tier I level.
TAYHA and RPI Join Forces
TAYHA is pleased to announce that Seth Appert and his RPI Varsity Hockey Team will be actively involved with our TAYHA players. In 2007-2008, every TAYHA team will be assigned RPI Varsity Hockey Players. These players will assist our TAYHA coaches and players with drills, practices, and games. In addition, our house teams and combined teams will now be skating as the TAYHA Jr. Engineers. Stay tuned for more exciting news about TAYHA's new partnership with RPI.

2008-2009 season registration
Open registration for the 2008-2009 season has begun for the Junior Engineers for all levels A, B, and C, Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey/Cross-ice Program.

All registrations (except Learn to Skate and Learn to Play/ Cross-ice) must be accompanied by a $400 deposit. For any questions, contact TAYHA's registrar, Martha Mainello at kevinjcase1150@aol.com.

Travel Team Tryouts
Tryouts for Mite and Squirt levels (birthyears 2002-1998) will be held on Sat. Sept 6th at 11:30 am-12:50pm and Wed. Sept 10th at 6:00pm at the Knick Arena in Troy.
These tryouts will be for AAA and A level travel teams.

Squirt Minor CD Selects - 1999 Birthyear (Coach - Larry DiScanio)
Mite CD Selects - 2001-2000 Birhyear
(Coaches - Yuri Ushakov, Bill Murray and Marc Mesick)

Seeking Troy-Albany Youth Hockey Alumni
Did you or someone you know skate for Troy-Albany Youth Hockey? TAYHA will be celebrating its 60th year in 2008. In anticipation of this milestone, we are trying to establish an Alumni database and put together a reunion celebration to mark our 60th anniversary. Troy-Albany Youth Hockey Association (TAYHA) also known as Troy Academy Hockey Association was established in 1948. Chances are if you played hockey in the Troy area, you played for this organization. If you or anyone you know played hockey for TAYHA, please contact us at tayha@nycap.rr.com or Kevinjcase1150@aol.com. We are also looking for photos, trophies, jerseys and other memorabilia from our earlier years.
