*Welcome to the home of the Tamaki Lightning! The purpose of this site is to provide you with the latest information and developments from within the Lightning programme.
The bar has been raised for American Football in New Zealand. The teams are getting stronger, coaching is getting better and the Lightning are pleased to be a part of this wonderful sport. With the growth of the sport and the level of play dramatically improving with each season, the future of American Football in New Zealand looks very promising.
The Tamaki Lightning are always looking for new players. We feel we do an excellent job at the club of teaching the basics of the sport so that you can learn properly, be successful and enjoy the physical/strategical nature of this sport.

The 2008-2009 campaign is well under way with trainings at Howick College.
The Premier Mens (18 years and older) team is training on Tues/Thurs evenings from 6:30pm - dark. They are also training on Saturday from 10am-12pm. Saturday trainings are full kit, so get there early to choose some gear and be ready to start at 10am sharp.
The Colts (17-20 year olds) are training on Mon/Wed evenings from 5:30-dark. They also train on Saturdays from 11am-1pm. The Colts season kicks off on November 1st (less than 5 weeks) so get along to trainings and start the season with a "W".
The numbers have been good thus far. Still waiting for some veterans to return to action and new members are always welcome.
