On 2/23, Varsity played OLV and beat them 33-19.  The 8th graders and their parents were honored prior to the game. they are: Laura, Jessica, Christina, Gilda, Cody, and Melissa.   Laura , Jessica , Christina, and Gilda have played together since 3rd grade !!! A special thank you to all the parents, their families,  and players for their years of  support and sportsmanship and most of all fun. they will be sorely missed.

The JV Girls finished the regular season strong by defeating St. Peter's and OLV.  After losing a prior double-OT game to the second place team from St. Peters, the Friars played probably their best game of the season defeating St, Peter's 32-16. Seven different players scored for the Friars, lead by Dominique with 12 points and Kristen with 8. After leading by 3 at half time, St. Anne's dominated the second half, outscoring St. Peter's 24-5.  A total team effort by all players contributed to this key win in G4 play.  Another great team effort to close the regular season vs. OLV as the Friars go out to a 17-2 lead at half time and coast to a 22-16 win.

Lauren, Savanna and Aviana also helped with the offense.  Alyssa and Brittany grabbed the rebounds as Frankie and Tara were awesome on  defense.  The Friars finish the regular season with a record of 9-3 in the G4 and 11-4 overall.  St. Anne's will go into the playoffs as the #2 seed...

St. Anne's 20  St. Joseph's 8   In their best team win so far, St. Anne's showed excellent teamwork and passing in a win against St. Joseph's of East Rutherford. Brittany lead all scorers with 8 points, while Alexis and Allie each had 4 and Aviana and Savana chipped in with 2 apiece.  Defensive specialists Frankie, Tara, Lauren and Alyssa made it very difficult for St. Joe's to score.   St. Anne's 29  Assumption 22   In a high scoring game played on the Friars home court, St. Anne's outscored Assumption 8-0 in the second quarter, after falling behind early. The offense was lead by Alexis with 19 points. She was also 7-9 from the free throw line. Avaiana scored 8 points in her best offensive game so far. Great defense in the 4th quarter, helped secure the Friar win.

Defensive specialist Frankie gets the first point of her St. Anne's career as she scores on a foul shot against OLV of Paramus in a 22-6 win Sunday night.  A total team effort as 6 different players score for the Friars.  Alexis does an excellent, unselfish job running the point and distributing the ball to her teammates while also scoring 9 points, all in the first half.  Savanna, Allie, Aviana, and Alyssa all contribute to the offense, while tenacious defense by Lauren, Brittany and Tara, hold OLV to only 6 points.

Trailing by 6 points late in the game, St. Anne's press brought the Friars to within 2, when Kate's shot at the buzzer tied the game at the end of regulation.  The Friars needed three overtimes to beat St. Francis of Wanaque in a hard fought game. Brooke's 2 free throws in the 3rd overtime helped clinch the win. Kristen lead all scorers with 14 points, while Nicole, Dominique and Danielle dominated on defense and rebounding.

Against St. Catherines, 6 different players score, led by Kristen with 8 and Dominique with 7.  St. Catherines had trouble with the Friars 1-3-1 defense holding them to only 5 points through 3 quarters.  Dominique, Nicole, Victoria and Danielle controlled the boards and blocked numerous shots. Great team offense by Kira, Brooke, Debbie and Kate made for a well played win.    In beating Transfiguration by three, the Friars get 12 points from Kristen and 10 more from Debbie to lead the team.  Tenacious Defense by Nicole, Dominique, Kate and Brooke, hold off a late charge by Transfiguration as St. Anne's comes away with another win.
