MISSION STATEMENT
The Silver Spring Spartans are a nonprofit organization that provides track and field opportunities for youth ages (7-18) in Milwaukee surrounding areas. Exceptional athletic ability is not required to join and there are no tryouts. We stress teaching the main fundamentals or track as well as leadership, self discipline, and sportmanship in a nonviolent drug free atmosphere.

TEAM DESCRIPTION
The Silver Spring Spartans Track Club sponsored by the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Spartans Track Club was founded by Mr. David Conner and Lee Bullock back in the early 90's. The team is an equal opportunity Track Club open to anyone who is interested in competing. Team members learn the lessons that competition teaches, discipline, training, hard work and dedication. We also strive to help youth further their education and achieve academic and athletic scholarships. Checkout the handouts section for info on tips and techniques to improve running and stretching. This year the National Junior Olympics will be held in Walnut, California and the regionals will be in Minnesota. The AAU Junior Olympics will be held in Knoxville, Tennesee. Next week 27 members of the Spartans track club will be heading to Walnut, California for the National Junior Olympics. The following week those 27 members along with a few more with be heading down to Knoxville, Tennessee for the AAU Junior Olympics.

Travel and Hotel information will be posted later this evening Friday July 20, 2007.

2007 AAU Junior Olympic Games

The AAU Junior Olympic Games will be taking place from July 30 - August 4, 2007 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Many of the Spartans will be flying in to Knoxville from the USATF Junior Olympics in California. The rest of the team will be leaving by van on Sunday July 29 too head to Tennesse.
