WELCOME TO THE SPOKANE SLIDERS GOLD-SPOKANES FIRST GOLD PROGRAM
This is the official site of the 2007 Spokane Sliders GOLD AND home to the developement programs U10-U16. The Slider program competes at every age group beginning at U-10. Our U-18 program has become one of the most competetive programs in the nation, at every level, including gold. As the players emerge in this program, they continue to be challenged, with the hopes of playing at the college level. Together, we are building future college players, one year at at time. We invite you to browse and hope that you might contact us to share Softball news and thoughts.

THANK YOU PORTLAND STATE SOFTBALL!
A BIG thank you to Head Coach Amy Hayes and assistant coach Jenny Shollenberger for coming to Spokane on one of the wild weather weekends on record.  Those that braved the weather were able to show their skills to a NW Division 1 softball coach and pick up some new drills to improve their skills.  Thanks to all involved, IT WAS A GREAT TIME!

SLIDERS HITTING CLINIC TO BEGIN

Winter hitting sessions will begin Saturday December 8th and continue through February 28th.  Sessions are 3 days a week Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and cover all proper hitting techniques. Two sessions are available and times are as follows.

Early session:

Mon and Wed:4:45-6:00

Sat:10:00-11:30

Late session:

Mon and Wed:6:15-7:30

Sat:11:45-1:15

Video taping with Right View Pro will be available. This program endorsed by Mike Candrea and Sue Enquist.

Cost is $75.00 a month. Refunds are not given if hitting session is missed.

DEMELLO TO YOUNGSTOWN

Kristina Demello, one of our fantastic pitching phenoms from last summer, has signed with Youngstown State.  Kristina will finish up her successful career at Miami Dade College this spring, where she was an All-American her freshman year. Youngstown competes in the Horizon league, where fellow Sliders Kala Allred, Katie Kine and China Frost will also play.

PARKS VERBALS TO NORTH DAKOTA STATE

Our 08' Senior pitcher Randi Parks has given North Dakota State the verbal they were waiting for.  NDSU has been searching for that outstanding pitcher flying under the radar and they found Randi. The Parks' are excited to have found a perfect home for their daughter and can't wait for her to continue greatness at the level.  

North Dakota State competes in the Division 1 Summit League and went 34-23 last season.

The Sliders are proud to add to our 07' fall Gold roster the following players:

Blake Meredith- a left-handed pitcher/hitter and 2009 grad.

Tiffany Lookabill-a catcher/3B transfer from California and 2008 grad.

Randi Parks-a right-handed pitcher from Boise and also a 2008 grad.

 

Welcome to the Sliders and we are looking forward to many wonderful softball memories with all of you.

BURGER BECOMES A DUCK
Allie Burger, an 09' outfielder has verbaled to the University of Oregon. Allie is excited to play for the Ducks and stay in the northwest to finish her softball career. Allie joins team mate Sam Skillingstad who joins the Ducks roster in 08'.

SLIDER PLAYERS NAMED HIGH SCHOOL ALL-REGION/ALL AMERICAN

Four Slider players from Shadle Park High School were named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All- WEST REGION TEAM. Sam Skillingstad(pitcher) and Allie Burger(outfielder) claimed first team All-Region. China Frost and Danielle Lynn (infielders) were honored on the second team. The West region includes: Washington, Idaho, California, Oregon, Arizona, Alaska, Utah, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico and Colorado.

LYNN CHOOSES PORTLAND STATE
Sliders 09' Outfielder Danielle Lynn has committed to Portland State University. Danielle feels like PSU is like a second home and has total confidence in the coaching staff to take her to the next level. We are thrilled to keep Danielle in the Great Northwest! Congrats "D"!

SKILLINGSTAD NAMED WASHINGTON STATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Sliders Gold stand-out pitcher Sam Skillingstad has been honored as the Washington state Gatorade player of the year. Sam was perfect at the 4A state tournament, not allowing a single run. Samantha finished the season 28-1 with an amazing 0.24 ERA and a proud state champion.

Sam was also named the WIAA player of the week.

Congrats Sam, we are so proud of you!!

ANDERSON & KINE & FROST COMMIT TO UNIVERSITIES
CONGRATS TO THE FOLLOWING SPOKANE SLIDERS GOLD PLAYERS:

MOLLY ANDERSON 08' catcher/1b: committed to the University of Indiana in the Big 10 conference. After her visit, Molly and her family felt that Bloomington was going to be the perfect place.

CHINA FROST 08' 1B/3B and KATIE KINE 08' SS/2B: both committed to Wright State University in Dayton Ohio. On their visit, both Sliders loved the campus and facilities and look forward to their college experience together.
