South Skagit Little League
South Skagit Little League (SSLL) provides children with the opportunity to develop the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and physical well-being in a safe and positive environment. SSLL is a charter member of Little League International and encorporates the towns of Conway, La Conner and Mt. Vernon.
Little League Baseball was founded in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1939. The first official league consisted of only three teams. Today, Little League Baseball is the largest organized youth sports program in the world with nearly three (3) million children in 102 countries participating.
Over 450 graduates of Little League baseball have gone on to play in Major League Baseball including former South Skagit Little League players Mark Hendrickson and Kyle Kendrick.
The South Skagit Little League season generally begins in mid-April and lasts through mid-June with practices beginning in late March. Depending on the age and level of play of the child, post-season and All-Star tournaments can last well into the summer months.
In order to participate in South Skagit Little League programs, participants must live within the official South
Skagit Little League boundaries. Parents must be able to provide three proofs of residency and an acceptable
proof of birth date.
From the Board of Directors to the coaches and umpires, South Skagit Little League is a 100% volunteer organization. We would welcome your participation. For more details on volunteering click here or feel free to drop in at one of our monthly Board of Directors meetings (dates, times and locations can be found on the Calendar of Events.)
