FALL BALL Meeting Thursday, September 25th at the New Cages at the Minor League Field.
FALL BALL Meeting Thursday, September 25th at the New Cages at the Minor League Field at 6:00pm.
For players still wishing to register for Fall Ball you are invited to come to the New Cages at the Minor League Field across the street from Sidney Glen Elementary. We will be discussing schedules, rules, and if the weather permits, try to get on the field to play a little catch.
South Kitsap Western Little League is excited to offer Fall Ball this year! Fall Ball is intended to be an instructional league to help improve players' basic skills. In order to participate in this Fall's Training and Development season all players that were ages 7-12 this year (that will be Little League ages 8-13 in the 2009 season) are required to provide the following:
- Completed 2008 Fall Ball Registration Form (click HERE or go to our Handouts section)
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Proof of address
- $40 per player; $30 for each additional sibling.
If you are interested in participating as an instructor, umpire, volunteer or even helping with carpooling you will need to submit a new 2009 Little League Volunteer Application (click HERE or go to our Handouts section)
The format for this year's Fall Training and Development season will be determined by the number and ages of players that will be participating. The initial plan is to have the players work on basic baseball fundamentals during the week at the SKWLL Minor League Field and new batting cage. Then every Sunday through October 26th play practice games at the Art Mikelson Major League Field.

SK Western 10-11 Year Old All-Stars Finish 2nd in State!
The SK Western 10-11 All-Stars began State Tournament play in Auburn back on July 19th and ended up playing 8 consecutive days. Saturday, July 19th, the beat Burlington-Edison. Sunday, July 20th, SK Western lost a 1 run ballgame to Lake Stevens and were bumped into the loser's bracket. In order to get to the Championship game on Saturday, July 26th, the SK Western 10-11 Year Olds would have to win elimination games Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Monday they defeated Aberdeen. Tuesday they defeated Federal Way National. Wednesday they defeated Greater Richland. Thursday they paid back Lake Stevens with a victory. And Friday they won a close 3-2 game against Salmon Creek.
Then came the Championship game against last year's 9-10 Year Old State Champions--Eastlake. SK Western jumped out to a 5-0 lead. But due to some timely hitting by Eastlake and some miscues in the field by SK Western, Eastlake was able to make a comeback and won the game 9-7 to win their 2nd consecutive Washington State banner.
Congratulations on a Great Year to all of the 10-11 Year Old Players: Logan, Lucas, Tyler, Mac, Hudson, Austin, Luke, Joel, Antonio, Alika, Ed, Alex and Matt.
