The Sakonnet Independent Baseball Association consists of players and teams from the towns of TIVERTON and LITTLE COMPTON, RI and WESTPORT, MASS. and is for players ages 13-15.
Games are played Mon-Sun at Pocasset Field in Tiverton, Veteran's Field in Little Compton and Westport High School.

SIBA MOURNS THE PASSING OF A GIANT
Earlier this Spring, youth sports in Tiverton lost a true champion and a friend, Henry Guillette (top row, left) who died at the age of 55 from a sudden heart attack. For the past 3 years, Henry was the manager of the SIBA Athletics who were league champions in 2005 and Western Division champs last year. Henry was a driving force in the development of SIBA and gave freely of his time and energy to all our endeavors. He was a man who shared the vision of a place where young men could learn the game and enjoy playing it as well as develop into fine well-rounded individuals. Henry was just as involved in Tiverton Little League and Tiverton Junior Basketball and brought his brand of honor and grace to those organizations as well. It has been some 11 years since we have begun a season without Henry there to assist and help guide us through the season. His laughter, understanding, knowledge and patience cannot be measured nor replaced. We join in a season-long salute to his memory and send our thoughts and prayers on to his wife Lori and son Zack, both of whom were also active participants and supporters of SIBA and all its players. God's speed, Hammer - we will miss you.

CONGRATULATIONS, KYLE....NEXT STOP, BOSTON
Westport's Kyle Fernandes became the first SIBA graduate to be drafted by a Major League baseball club when he was taken in the 15th round by the Boston Red Sox in this year's amateur draft. Kyle is a former Cub player who starred here between the years 1998-2000 and led our all-star teams to two District championships and two RI Babe Ruth Final Fours. From time to time we will update Kyle's status here on the site.
