Gator Alum: Roger Clemens
San Jacinto College North is the only junior college to claim a Cy Young Award winner among its former players, an award claimed six times by Roger Clemens. As a Gator in 1981, Clemens fanned 82 hitters in 85 2/3 innings en route to a 9-2 record. Clemens holds the record for Cy Young awards. The right-hander has won two championships with the New York Yankees.
Paul Miller, San Jacinto's assistant coach in 1981, said Clemens had "genius-level control - the perfection of coordination and mechanics."
