Saints Wrestling club was founded in 1986 by Sioux City wrestling parents who wanted their children to receive the extra training that eastern Iowa youth wrestling programs have been receiving for years. This year we are celebrating our 20- year anniversary of educating youth in the tr-state area. We are currently connected to the Sergeant Bluff/Luton (SBL) school district and are currently running their youth program along with our traditional club. Jim McCrystal is our head coach and has been with the club since 2003. Saints/SBL Wrestling is open to kids PreK - 8th grade. We have 2 groups starting with the Animals, which are our PreK - 2nd grade. They will learn the basics of wrestling with our Animals coach Kelly Kistner. Coach Kelly has been with the Saints Wrestling club since 1999. Even though he no loger has any relatives in the club he enjoys coaching all our kids. He is also assisted with anywhere from 5-10 fathers of the approximately 30 kids that are currently attending practices. 2 Moriningside College Wrestlers, currently coach our 3rd - 8th graders (SAINTS) Jared Pickett and Jake Stevenson, both have a great deal of experience from youth through college tournaments and are All Americans. We also have to guest coaches from the SBL school system: Coach Huffman & Coach Borkowski. The Saints are dedicated to producing outstanding wrestlers of all ages.
