The 11/12 Year Old Softball Train is Heading to Albany!!!
| For the first time in Robbinsville (or Washington Twp) Little League history, an 11/12 year old team has won the NJ State Championship and will be heading to the East Regional in Albany, NY!!! This is only the second time in league history that any team has advanced to the East Region (the first time was the 2006 Junior Softball team). With Jim Freeman at the helm, the girls won a thrilling game against a very tough Hanover team by a score of 3 – 1 behind the pitching of Lauren Fischer and the clutch hitting of Rebecca Freeman. The game went to the top of the 6th inning tied 1 – 1. Rebecca led off the inning with a triple and that’s when the rest of the offense took over as Rebecca scored followed by an insurance run to make it 3 – 1. Lauren then shut down Hanover in the home frame of the 6th to secure the victory. Read more about the CHAMPIONS here. |

| The 9/10 All-star Softball team managed by Ed Horowitz defeated Florence for the third time in this post-season to win the District 12 Championship by a final score of 11-1. Other than a hiccup in the 2nd inning, Hannah Olshevski dominated the game for the win. Megan Hevey had the big hit again as she laced a bases clearing triple to right as the girls took control of the game. The game ended in the bottom of the 4th as the 11th run crossed the plate. The girls now go on to the Section 3 championship which begins on July 27th at Lincroft Little League at 4pm against the District 19 champion. Boys 9's Continue to Roll, Come From Behind to Top HTRBA With 7 - 4 Win
| After finding themselves down 4 - 1 in the second inning, our 9 year old Boys of Summer toughed out a gutty 7 - 4 comeback win by scoring 6 unanswered runs against a formidable opponent in HTRBA. Michael Ortepio woke up the bats with a double that reached the left field fence on one bounce, Corey Kale and Taylor Twamley each had key defensive assists from the outfield, and James Petagna came in relief of Matt Veisz to put the brakes on the HTRBA offense by throwing only 26 pitches over the last 9 outs. |
|
| The #2 seed Boys move on to face #3 seed Sunnybrae in the Ewing 9 year old tournament Friday night 7/25, 8pm at Moody Park (see below for driving directions). The winner will face the winner of #1 Ewing and #5 Nottingham on Saturday 7/27 at 5pm. |

RLL Success Starts Early as 8 Year Old Girls Take West Windsor Tournament Crown
| Again, the 8 year old girl’s softball all star team started with many jitters allowing 3 unearned runs in the first inning to fall behind 3-1. This team showed their resolve as Sophie Langsdorf and Kathleen Hunter got the team back into it by starting a 2nd inning rally to tie the game. Robbinsville went ahead 5-3 in the 3rd behind the bats of Sara Toscano, Sophie Billings and Lauren Kiszely. In a tight game their were so many great plays, but the one by Aliyah Daniel, deep at short throwing out the batter at first to save a run was fantastic. Fiona Aromando broke the game open in the 5th, with 2 strikes and 6 pitches (there are a maximum of 7 allowed in this tournament unless the last is fouled off), she fouled off a terrible pitch from her coach (Keith Motusesky) and then smashed a double to score 2 runs the clutch player that she is. Lauren Kroepfl was outstanding at 3rd as well as Chelsea Manto in center and Karina Colemenares in left. Megan Kratz also had a key triple to start a rally. Sara Motusesky played flawless at pitcher making play after play to not allow Bordentown to come back and as usual Lauren Kiszely was stellar at first catching everything thrown to her. Robbinsville was crowned 8 year old District 12 Champions by the final score of 11-6. |

RLL 2008 8 Year Old Boys Give Opponents All They Can Handle in the 2008 Bordentown Tournament
| The 8 year old-stars finished up their postseason with an impressive 10-2 record taking third place in the Bordentown tournament. After going 4-0 in pool play, the boys started the playoff round with a hard fought 6-4 victory over Bordentown Gold. Next up was West Windsor, who won the Lawrence tournament earlier this summer. After trailing 11-4, the boys closed the gap to 11-9 going into the sixth inning, but couldn't complete the comeback. In the consolation game, our guys finished off their postseason with a 4-3 nail-biter over Nottingham, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 6th for the walk-off victory, earning the third place trophy. The boys truly represented the Robbinsville community with their hard work and tremendous effort. They should all be proud. |

RLL 8 Year Old Boys Earn Respect in 2008 Lawrence Little League Tournament
| The 8 year old boys all-stars started their post season with a tournament hosted by Lawrence Little League. The boys cruised through pool play with a perfect 4-0 record tallying impressive victories over Lawrence, 6-11, Allentown and Sunnybrae, earning them the 2nd seed for the single elimination playoff round. Unfortunately, they ran into a tough HTRBA squad who played an excellent game. Despite a valiant comeback in the bottom of the sixth, the boys fell just short 11-8. |

2008 7 Year Old Boys Perform Well
| Congratulations to the RLL 2008 7 year old boys all star team. They completed play in the Sunnybrae Little League and 6-11 Little League tournaments this summer. Although official scores are not kept at this age, the team managed a perfect 8-0 record, outscoring their opponents by a collective score of 227-24. This included 7 home runs over the fence on the 6-11 Little League small field. Managed by Mike Griffin, the team worked extremely hard this summer and the results were evident by how well they performed at the plate and in the field. |
