The 2008 11U Region RedBirds Would Like To Welcome You To Our Website
2008 11U Region RedBirdsFeb 29 - Mar 1 12U Triple Crown Sports Winter Warm - Up- Lansing, Michigan The Region RedBirds start their 2008 season opener against some stiff competion in the frozen ropes of Lansing Michigan. The RedBirds first game was against the 12U Highland Heaters. Yes we drove hundreds of miles to play a team that is only 10 miles northwest of us. We beat the Heaters 8-3 for our first victory. We then had to play the Northville Stampede out of Michigan. We put a stampede on them scoring 20 runs in 3 innings for a final score of 20-0. Next up were the Downriver outlaws from Michigan. It was payback time for the Outlaws as we knocked them out in 2007. No luck for the Outlaws, RedBirds 6 Outlaws 2. In the semifinal game, the RedBirds would match up with the Heaters again.RedBirds14 Heaters 3. No contest as the RedBirds were heating up. Going to the "ship" the RedBirds would face the Troy Tigers and those Boys were big!! RedBirds 10 Tigers 5. RedBirds win their first CHAMPIONSHIP of the year!!!!!
March 28-30 9th Annual Paris Tennessee Spring Classic - Paris Tennessee The RedBirds packed their bags and flew down south to play some southern competition. We started out with the Henry County Force, which was no match for the Northern Indiana Region RedBirds. The RedBirds put up 14 runs in three innings. Huttel and Kamykowsi shut them out and combined for a"no hitter". Saturday we started the game with the Murray Bucs from TN only to get rained out for the entire weekend. The RedBirds looked strong and had a chance st winning it all.
April 5-6 Season Tip Off - Lynwood Illinois The RedBirds come back to Lynwood from Tennessee to play at the Ho-Chunk. The RedBirds outscored their opponents 53-2 in 5 games played. The entire 10 players pitched for the tournament handing out 40 strike-outs. The team was playing on all cylinders. The RedBirds claimed their second CHAMPIONSHIP for the 2008 season.
April 11-13 The ST. Joes Invitational - Joliet, Illinois The RedBirds were invited to play in the St. Joes invite which collected most of the talented teams from a 60 mile radius. The teams included Lemont Nationals, St. Joes Blue, Gravel Baseball, Plainfield Warriors( 2006 CABA National Champions), and The Future Baseball( 2nd CABA 2007 world Series). The RedBirds opened against the Romeoville Rattlers with a 13-1 victory. Next we played the Plainfield Warriors and fell 4-2 on a brutally cold day. It was our 1st loss of the season. We then had to play the host team, St. Joes Blue, it was a must win to get into the championship round. We defaeted them 8-2.
