The Randolph Oilers recorded their first shutout saturday against the University of Maine Club Team in Orono, ME...The win also guaranteed the Oilers a winning regular season record for the first time in a long time...The win was highlighted by great play all around...The defense was led by Karl Wells (3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles), Rob Vicente (2 sacks), Brian Mckanobb (sack), Mel Rivera (sack) and Norman Burns (Int)...John O'Brien, Mark Royster, Cloby Gallagher, and Anthony Goodwyn all played well
The first scoring drive started when Randolph took possession at the own 20 after UMaine QB Brett Davidson fumbled into the end zone resulting in a touchback...The Oilers went 80 yards on 4 plays, all passes from Ryan Myers to Matt Trainor to take a 7-0 first quarter advantage...The second score came about 1 minute into the second quarter when Charles Thomas thundered into the end zone on an 8 yard run giving the Oilers a 14-0 lead...They scored again when Myers found Carroll for a 9 yard score giving the Oilers a 21-0 lead going into the half
The second half was all defense as Randolph maintained their great play...The final score came late in the third quarter when Myers hooked up Patrick Kromah for 45 yards...the snap was bobbled on the extra point try and the final score ended up being 27-0
Myers threw 3 touchdowns on the way to being named EFL offensive player of the week for the second time this season...Trainor had over 100 yards receiving and Thomas ran wild all night...The offensive line of Pete Hogan, Karl Wells, Kevin Clark, Chad Rosin, TD Thompson, and Tim Robinson allowed only one sack and opened holes all night for Thomas, Adam Robertson, Andre Wiggins and Anthony Collins, who all ran well...Mark Callahan had a big catch toward the end of the first half and was on broken tackle away from scoring
In other EFL action, the Charlestown Townies defeated the Brockton Buccaneers 33-6 in Bridgewater saturday night...The Townies have a buy and the Bucs will host the Oilers next saturday night
The randolph Oilers are hosting a halloween party on Friday October 24 at the Randolph VFW...Admission is free, but you can make a donation to the team...All donations will be accepted and appreciated...Costumes are mandatory, and there will be kareoke all night long...The doors open at 7
As the Oilers prepare to open our 2008 EFL season, we would like to congratulate Head Coach Ed Penn for being inducted into the Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame in Sarasota, Florida last December

Greeting to you all. Thank you for visiting the home of the Randolph Oilers. Randolph now began the start of another great season. The oilers have been in existance fo 35 years. The win-loss record really cannot start to measure the value of this program. The owners have prided themselves and has treated all players who has worn the Blue and Gold, as a family member. To evaluate the success of the Randolph Oilers, all you have to do is look around the EFL and NEFL, and you will see so many ex-players, coaches, and staff members from the Oiler Family
