Youth Baseball in Northern Ireland.


Who are the Portstewart Eagles and the Portrush Mustangs? We are a collection of coaches and kids in Northern Ireland who feel passionate about the game of baseball! We have 6 coaches, one an expatriate from the USA. We have approximately 70 kids with ages ranging from 6-18, boys and girls. We also have another 60 kids we teach in local county/council programmes.We all love baseball and love what the sport brings to this country. We see it as an opportunity for kids from any religious or ethnic background to play and work together in teamwork, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship. We accept and value every kid and work to build their confidence, their skills and self esteem as they learn this wonderful game. The kids help the coaches to learn patience and humility!
The Eagles have been growing since 1998 and their players and coaches have participated, as you can read in the News secton, in tournaments in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and in Poland. Our nearest competitors are located near Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland, approximately 3 and 1/2 hours drive away. We continue to build our newest team, the Portrush Mustangs and hope to begin to stage matches between the two teams. Our sister team is the Virginia Mustangs, from Stafford in the USA.
