YEAR-END MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY

There will be lots to discuss next Monday night when the league gets together for its year-end meeting at the APM Centre in Cornwall at 7:30.  There are significant changes in the works for next season, so all teams and potential new teams MUST have a representative present at the meeting.

If you would like to add any agenda items, please contact myself (Jared Doucette) 672-1886 (peiminorjuniorc@hotmail.com), or Ross Woodward 368-2116 (peijuniorc@pei.sympatico.ca).

Tignish Aces Win PEI Title

The Tignish Aces capped off arguably the best season of any championship team in a long time with a 9-2 victory over the North River Flames on Monday night.  The win gave the Aces a 4-1 series victory and enabled them to celebrate their first league title since 2005 in front of their home town fans.

Their remarkable run included a 34-1-1 record (combined regular season and playoffs).   The key reason for their success was a well-balanced offensive attack that lead to an amazing 255 goals (an average of over 7 per game). The Aces have been one of the most successful franchises, racking up three league championships and one runners-up finish in the six years since returning to the league in 2002.As a result of their success, the Aces have to be considered a serious contender in the Maritime-Hockey North Junior C Championships, where no PEI representative has ever made it through the semi-finals stage of the tournament.
