Stick Spec Measurements. Also Stick Rule Changes for 2009 season
Here are the rules on the stick (also called a CROSSE)
SHORT STICKS
overall length must be 40 - 42 inches.
LONG POLES
overall lenghth must be 52 - 72 inches.
HEAD
widest point muct measure between 6.5 - 10 inches, inside measurement.
length must be a minimum of 10 inches from outside edge of head to beginning of
the throat of the crosse
POCKET
top of ball may not be visible when stick is viewed from the side, held horizontally.
when stick is rotated from 90 degress the ball should roll out of the sidewall, or over the head to the ground.
GOALIE HEAD
widest point must be 10 -12 inches at top and bottom of wall.
maximum lenght of 16 1/2 inches.
SIDEWALLS
no more than 2 inches high.
BALL STOP
not required.
ALL SHAFTS MUST HAVE A BUTT END AFFIXED OR BE TAPED OVER.

This is the language of the 2009 spec.
Starting with the 2009 season, the lacrosse stick will have the following dimensions, in addition to the current specifications:
The measurement at the widest part of the crosse shall be a minimum of 6½ inches measured at the inside front of the crosse and a minimum of 6 inches on the back of the crosse; The measurement up from the stop to the 5-inch mark may not be less than 4¼ inches at the front and back of the crosse; The measurement up from the stop to the 3-inch mark may not be less than 3¼ inches at the front and back of the crosse; and The measurement up from the stop to the 1¼-inch mark may not be less than 2¾ inches at the front and back of the crosse.
Heads that are legal for 2009

Brine = Cyber, Ripper, Rocket, Vapor
Gait = Mayhem, Chaos - This one was so on the border at 3", I am assuming it can be fixed by a minor modification of the mold.
STX = AV8, Proton/Proton+, X2/X2+
Warrior = Most likely Laxstar and Warpath. I have not measured these heads, but based on photos and Warrior description, these two heads will likely pass.
The following heads will NOT be legal under the 2009 rule currently:
Brine
Answer =>1.25", 3", 5" top face,
Clutch =>1.25", 3", 5" top face,
E3 =>1.25", 3", 5" top face,
Motive =>3", 5" Bottom face, but just barely, the mold can be slightly modified to make this head legal.

Truth =>1.25", 3", 5" top face,

Triton =>3" top face, 3", 5" bottom face

V-Groove => Based on photos and other similar STX designs, I think it will also fail.
