OREGON DISTRICT 7, OREGON DISTRICT 2, OREGON DISTRICT 4, and OREGON DISTRICT 3 made financial contributions to help with District expenses at our start-up in 2003, and OREGON STATE LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL advanced a starter fund loan (paid off in 2005!) Thanks, folks!! Thank you to State Farm Insurance Companies for providing sponsorship to our District in the form of a donation of office equipment! Our 'startup' equipment in 2003 included a fax machine, a copier/collater, and two laptops, a hard drive, monitor, and printer specifically for District 9 administrative operations! (Nearly all are now defunct.) "State Farm's Good Neighbor Grant Program" allows its employees and agents to apply for a $500 grant toward any non-profit program where they volunteer 40 or more hours per year! There's one State Farm employee on District Staff -- and a $500 grant was applied for this first year, with the funds helping cover District Insurance fees and charter fees for the Challenger Division teams!
