Local Leagues are looking toward post-season All Star Tournaments!  As of this date, it 'looks' like District 9 will have representation in:

9 & 10 yr old Baseball, 10 & 11 yr old Baseball, Little League Baseball, Junior League Baseball, 9 & 10 yr old Girls' Softball, Little League Softball, Junior League Softball

Note for any with questions:  9 & 10 and 10 & 11 yr old team players may be selected from regular season Minor and/or Major teams.  These divisions only advance through District tournament to State Tournaments.  Little League level teams must be league ages 11 or 12 and must be selected from regular season Major teams.  Junior League teams must be league ages 12, 13, or 14, and must be selected from regular season Junior teams.  Little League and Junior League teams winning at District, advance to State tournaments.  Winners from State advance to Regionals.  Winners at Regionals advance to World Series!

District 9 is hosting the 9 & 10 yr old Baseball State Tournament for 2008.  Projected dates are July 12th-19th; and the site:  Guy Lee Fields.  This is the 'grand finale' for these teams since it is as far as they can advance so we're hoping to give them a really good time!  Eight teams from around the state will join the District 9 team as they all converge on the Springfield/Eugene area!

If you are looking for information specific to one of our chartered Little Leagues, click on the League Name below or on the "Our Leagues" in the directory.

Each league's website generally will provide 'league-specific'  dates, events, and contact information'.

IMPORTANT DATES AND INFORMATION REGARDING EVENTS IN DISTRICT 9 IN PREPARATION FOR THE 2008 SEASON!
In January of 2008, District 9 hosted the annual statewide Little League Leadership Training Conference - providing Little League's best training opportunities for everyone on a Little League board - and the statewide Little League Manager/Coach Education Program (which included an in-depth session focused on Sports Safety)!  Ours is a very "training" focused district leadership. All leagues are notified well in advance of the events and are strongly encouraged to send as much of their volunteer pool to the training opportunities as possible!
Note:  The 2009 Oregon League Leadership Conference is being hosted in District 1 at the Portland Airport Holiday Inn - January 9th-11th!  Check back here for more info or contact your District Administrator!
Umpire Training events were arranged with league-specific scheduling through League Presidents with the District's UIC (Gary Taylor).  In nearly every case across District 9, League Presidents required  all managers and coaches umpire games at the level directly above the level they are coaching this season ... to build on the Umpire Pool across their league as well as to better prepare those individuals for their step up to another division in a future season!.
Scorekeeping Sessions - as League Presidents were advised in early March, the Scorekeeping sessions were held very close to the first scheduled games, with scheduling actually on April 6th prior to the April 12th "season starters" across District 9.  Doing so, hopefully, keeps the 'new information' fresh and easier to recall.  Thirty-three representatives from across the district attended the April 6th event.  With the pitch count rules for Baseball (ages 7-18), additional time was spent focused on record keeping and the pitch count regulations for each age.  Sessions were led by Soni Harrision, new to staff as a Scorekeeping Consultant.

KEEP YOUR EYE ON this website for more information, or click here to e-mail the District Administrator.
