nSkills Development
The goal of the AE team is to develop players so they can progress to the A level and beyond. We believe the repetition of the basics in skating, shooting, stick handling and passing will form the basics of all practices. We will introduce and execute MITRON drills that continue to challenge the kids and to push them to new skill levels throughout the year.
nTeamwork
Hockey is a team sport. Passing WINS games !!!! As such, teamwork will be encouraged and is expected from all players.” All children will learn to be two way players".
Leadership
Both on and off the ice , the players will be representing Oakville and as such will be expected to act as ambassadors to our city and our hockey club. On ice, responsibility for team leadership will be shared throughout the year.

Personal Development
It is the expectation that during the course of the season, players will grow both as a player and as an individual. It is the hope that at the conclusion of the season, all players will feel good about themselves as players, a team and importantly will continue to be energized about the game of hockey.n
Good sportsmanship occurs when teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials treat each other with respect. Kids learn the basics of sportsmanship from the adults in their lives, especially their parents and their coaches. Kids who see adults behaving in a sportsmanlike way gradually come to understand that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behave with dignity - whether they win or lose a game. Ensure you encourage it at home, in the car and on the ice.
