Welcome to the North Suburban Slammers Web site. The North Suburban Slammers began play during 2001 with six teams at four different age levels. This effort is a joint venture of the softball programs of Skokie, Lincolnwood, and Morton Grove, but players from other communities are welcome to participate.

The goal of the Slammers organization is to provide an enjoyable atmosphere in which to play softball at a competitive level, and to strengthen our high school programs via our program and strong community house leagues.

We expect our teams to be very competitive, and we expect a strong commitment from every player. But we also want the experience to be fun for players and their families, and we recognize that players have other interests and responsibilities beyond softball.

We work closely with the coaching staffs at our community high schools, and all of our coaches have significant coaching experience.

Because of the heavy rains this weekend, the 10U and 12U tryouts scheduled for Sun., Sept. 14, at McNally Park will instead occur indoors at Niles North High School, 9800 N. Lawler Ave., Skokie, IL 60076. The 10U tryouts will be from 10 a.m. to noon, and the 12U tryouts will be from noon to 2 p.m. The tryouts will take place in the second-floor wrestling gym and batting cages. Park behind the school, enter through the purple doors near the southwest corner of the building, turn right into the first hallway on your right, and then turn right again immediately and go up the stairs. The gym will be on your left and the cages will be on your right at the top of the stairs. For additional information, please call the Slammers at 847-673.7198.

The North Suburban Slammers would like to thank all of the terrific teams that participated in our tournament this year.  Thanks for being so flexible as we worked around the weather and enjoyed a beautiful Sunday of softball.  The Slammers would also like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers without whom this tournament would not have been possible.  We'd also like to thank the Skokie Park District for their tremendous work on the fields, the Great Lakes Officials Association for keeping us supplied with umpires as we re-arranged our schedule, and the Glenview Titans program for providing us a couple of fields for 10U play on Saturday evening.
