The Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation (NVWF) is an all-volunteer Non-profit 501(c)3 Non-Stock Corporation formed by 4 clubs in 1966 to promote wrestling in the Northern Virginia area. NVWF is the ONLY beginners' wrestling organization for the D.C. Metropolitan Area. 33 wrestling clubs with over 1,600 coed wrestlers ages 5 to 14 from 12 different cities and towns in 9 Northern Virginia counties are NVWF members.
NVWF stresses safety and sportsmanship while having fun. Fairfax County Department of Recreation presented NVWF a Community Service Award "for enriching the lives of Fairfax County citizens by providing opportunities for quality amateur athletic competition."
Clubs start registration in September. Please contact individual clubs regarding registration timeframes and costs. NVWF requires separate membership in the Amatuer Athletic Union (AAU) for their secondary medical insurance coverage.
Practices start in November with the first meet in December. NVWF holds 7 week-end meets from December through February. A Final Tournament with all clubs is held in late February or early March. We contract with Fairfax County Public School Athletic Trainers to provide professional medical care at our tournaments.
Please go to our "Calendar" and scroll forward to the months of December, January & February to see a schedule of meets. Click on the individual date and then click on the icon in the pop-up window in the upper left corner to print a map of the meet's location. Thank you for supporting the youth of America through the sport of wrestling.
