Motto: "VICTORY IS THE PRIZE...HARDWORK IS THE PRICE"
Effective immediately, the following will become the Northwest Bulldogs Policy related to elevated heat levels.
No practices will be cancelled by the program....the decision to cancel practice in it's entirety will be at the decretion of each teams Head Coach or by mandate by MFA, National Pop Warner or Government Agency.
However, at 6:00 p.m., if the temperature is 94 degrees or above, teams must not hold "on field" physical activities, ie. drills, laps, exercise, etc. Team meetings, film sessions, chalks talks will be permitted. Again, no participate should be involved in any on field physical activity. If the temperature is 93 degrees or below, teams are permitted to hold practice, however it will be at the Head Coach's discretion. For every 20 minutes of practice, it is mandatory that all teams take a water break. Coaches should have water bottles on the field to periodically provide water to participants.
There should be an abundance of fluids for all cheer and football participants.
The program will provide 1 water station on both fields; however, it is the expectation that each coaching staff also provide water/ice for it's team during elevated heat levels.
Please note that this weather related policy relates to the WEATHER AT 6PM (start of normal practice time).
No decision will be made to cancel practice, due to weather, prior to 6pm. Please also note that at times, we will have access to the gymnasiums in the Towanda PAL Center and the Malcolm X Center. When available, teams may elect to hold walk through practice in these gyms.
Pop Warner Mandatory Background Checks
Pop Warner programs nationwide are required to annually conduct a background check of: Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players and/or cheer participants.
The purpose of these background checks is, first and foremost, to protect the children.
