***** WHAT PARENTS SAY ABOUT OUR HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PROGRAMS *****
- When my child returned to her hockey program last fall, everyone kept asking what she had done to improve so much. I told them she had participated in your Spring and Summer programs which she thought were so much fun and obviously greatly improved her hockey skills
- Nice to see North Shore Hockey Alumni playing at all levels including Division 1 Colleges and the NHL! Your program is the only one where all players have an opportunity to skate every Spring and Summer with not only all levels of players, including some future stars, but also with family and friends!
- Thank you for an outstanding spring and summer. All of my kids had a great time and my daughter for the first time is really interested in playing hockey.
- Great program. My son will be playing his third year of Hockey East. Much of his development occurred during off-seasons at North Shore Hockey. Excellent coaching staff in a stress-free enviroment. Lots of fun!
- I can always count on your programs to help all my kids from my younger first year player to my older high school player. Your experience in all aspects of training and development and motivation make sure each child is the best they can be!

*** HOW TO SCORE MORE GOALS ***
Here are some goal scoring tips to help both forwards and defensemen score more goals:
The 3 prime, on ice shooting areas for scoring goals are:
1.The slot area, between the hash marks 2. Just outside the crease area, for shooting many rebounds and loose pucks 3. The open points, and in particular, shots taken from near the center of the blue line
To score more goals the shooter must "see like the puck," because the puck is positioned 2-3 feet off to one side of your body on your stick blade. The opening to the net that your eyes see is not exactly the same opening that the puck sees and you
must adjust your thinking. When attempting to score, look for an opening for the puck to enter the net. Think, can I score from here or not, react, shoot, pass or carry the puck to a better on ice scoring location.

Tim Houston, Raiders Tie Powerhouse Catholic Memorial
HOUSTON SETS UP BOTH GOALS AND REACHES CENTURY MARK - EAGLE TRIBUNE - BOYS HOCKEY
When Tim Houston's second assist of Monday's game was announced, he and his teammates were busy playing out the final seconds of Central Catholic's 2-2 tie with Catholic Memorial, the No. 1-ranked team in Eastern Mass.
But after the game, Houston had more to celebrate than the impressive tie.
His assist on the Justin Kurek goal gave him 100 points for his varsity career.
"I am very excited," said Houston, a North Andover resident. "Not too many people have done it. It feels great."
Houston is believed to be the seventh player in Central Catholic history to score 100 points. Erik Antkowiak and Todd Elliott are tied for the school record with 173 points, followed by 2007 Eagle-Tribune Player of the Year and Houston's linemate of the season ago, Paul Jaskot (148). Central Catholic head coach Mike Jankowski, Al Salvia and Dean Borelli also reached the mark.
"I knew I was pretty close at the start of the season," said Houston. "I kind of lost track for a while. Now that I have got it is great. To follow in the shoes of Jaskot, one of the greatest players I have seen, and coach Jankowski."
After scoring seven goals and adding 13 assists as a sophomore, Houston broke onto the scene a year ago when he was one of the keys to their run to the Super 8. He scored 22 goals and had 30 assists. So far this year he has four goals and 15 assists.

***** How Do You Improve ? *****
In most games where you have three lines and even with 15 minute periods, you will at best be on the ice for only 10 minutes, handle the puck for a few seconds, and take maybe 3 shots in the almost hour and a half it takes to play a game. How much will you improve in this situation? There is no doubt in any sport that to improve, you need to work on your skills as much as possible.
In most skill sessions, you will be on the ice a minimum of 50 minutes, take (or goalies receive) 40 or more shots, and handle the puck for at least 30 minutes. Skill sessions allow you to work on your skills more than five times as much as you would in a game for about half the cost. In well organized skill sessions, you will skate, handle the puck and shoot more in the first ten minutes than you would in most games.
