Welcome to the Motor City Wrestling Club website. The MCWC is affiliated with the Chippewa Valley School District in Macomb County, Michigan. The club offers a structured training environment for young boys and girls from age five all the way to high school. The club’s philosophy is simple: wrestling is one of the greatest molders of character and tools for physical fitness in the world. Young people learn the value of hard work, discipline, sportsmanship, and general health through practice and competition in the oldest and greatest sport on Earth. In our club, the coaches are all former wrestlers concerned with the individual development of all club members. Skill training, conditioning, competitiveness, and fun are all part of the emphasis of the Motor City Wrestling Club. Our wrestlers are expected to practice hard, compete fairly, and win and lose with pride and dignity. Wrestling is seen as part of the development of the entire person and not an end in and of itself.

 OFF SEASON NEWS!

MOTOR CITY MADNESS!

Hello Everyone!

We hope you and yours are well.  There is an upcoming Border Wars folkstyle wrestling tournament that will be hosted by us, Motor City Wrestling Club at Chippewa Valley High School, 18th of May 2008.

Even though the flier says otherwise, all Motor City Wrestling Club wrestlers’ registration costs are $15.00 even for walk-ups.

To support those interested, there will be practices before the tournament on the following dates:

Monday, 12 May 2008: 6:30 to 8:00pm

Wednesday, 14 May 2008: 6:30 to 8:00pm

The high school coaching staff will be at these practices and appropriate behavior will be expected.  It would be that much more beneficial if you could coordinate to make sure you have a drilling partner.

If you are interested in the tournament or simply want to practice, we strongly encourage your wrestler to attend as this would be a good time to polish up prior to the tournament.

If you are not going to wrestle please return your singlet to us at the Monday practice or contact us to coordinate a date and time to drop the singlet off and return your check.  If not, your check will be cashed by the end of the month and you may keep the singlet.  Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either Coach Earl or Coach Roel.

We hope that you have had a great break from the sport (if you did) and we look forward to seeing you at practice next week.

If you have questions, you can reach Coach Earl  at 586-412-9398 or Coach Roel at 586-457-0110.

Regards,

Coach Earl & Coach Roel
