10s WIN DISTRICT 31!! 10s COME BACK IN THE 6TH INNING TO WIN DISTRICT Massapequa International's 10yr old Williamsport Baseball Team would not give up. They had beaten Wantagh 4-0 in their 1st game of the tournament, defeated Bellmore 22-0 in the 2nd game, and edged a victory over Merrick 1-0 in a nail-biter in game 3 of their Williamsport season. Tuesday, July 10 Tournament Report! Here's how we break it down at this time : Baseball - 10's 2 wins and counting 11's 2 wins and counting 12's 3 wins and a loss, going against Merrick on Thursday at 8 for a shot at Coast Juniors - 2 wins , District Finals TOMORROW evening at 5:30 at Burns Park against our "OLD" rivals North Bellmore- North Merrick. Seniors -1 loss a heart breaker 6-5, they'll be back. Minors Softball - tough loss to a REAL TOUGH Merrick team on Sunday, coming back tomorrow 5:30 pm at Saw Mill Come on out folks and support these great kids as they battle on to do us PROUD !! Curve Balls STRIKE OUT !!! The Board took a BIG step towards protecting our youngsters. We have decided to ban "curve balls " for anyone in the 12 and under group. This will apply to Majors, Minors and Farms Divisions. We have also implemented a program to remove them from consideration of being used in tournament as well. The league took this step after careful consideration and review of many articles and video of arm injuries due to the early use of breaking pitches. We as a League encourage other leagues in the District and across the Country to join us. Just think about the Little League World Series on TV and how many curves were thrown by some of those kids. If you remember about four years ago the kid from Massachusetts busting off one after another. We can't let that happen . Monday, July 2 TOURNAMENT REPORT Well it's begun. Three of our Williamsport Tournament teams started off strong on Saturday. Where to practice? It is this league's policy that teams that play on 60 foot fields are to practice on 60 foot fields. Teams that play on 90 foot fields, practice on 90 foot fields. If you are practicing a 60 foot team on a 90 foot field you are in violation of this policy. The 90 foot team's manager/coach has every right to ask you to leave the field immediately. Wednesday, October 11 PITCH COUNT RULE ADOPTED ! In the interests of safety for the many children in Little League, Little League International has adopted a pitch count rule for the 2007 Season. This rule will apply to all divisions within MILL where the kids pitch. Check out the link to Little League to see the application of the rule and the age specific pitch counts.
