WINDSOR MIDGET SELECTS GO UNDEFEATED
The Windsor Midget Selects captured the Michigan 18 & Under State Championship, going 5-0 on the weekend. In three Michigan tournaments, the Selects have won gold in two and silver in the other establishing an overall record of 16-1. Their overall season record at present stands at 31-5. Our congratulations go out to the coaching staff and the 13 players that make up this team.

SELECTS FINISH ON TOP AT FIRECRACKER CLASSIC
The Windsor Selects (under 18 team) captured a gold medal at the Firecracker Classic Invitational tournament in Michigan over the weekend. The Selects posted a 6-0 record, defeating Michigan's Underwood Orr 9-1 in the championship game. Larry Balkwill notched 4 RBIs while Cam Goddard, Matt Cook & Laszlo Horvath had two hits apiece. Justin Cook gave up just three hits over four innings pitched for the Selects.

Selects Eliminated
The Windsor Selects have been eliminated from the 2008 Ontario Midget Elimination Tournament by dropping a 7-1 decision to team Toronto. Toronto remains undefeated and will meet Mississauga who must defeat Toronto twice to advance to the national championship. The Selects finished third overall.

Windsor Selects Record A Pair of Victories
At the Midget Elimination Tournament, the Windsor Selects defeated Mississauga Majors 7-0 and Burlington 5-0 in Sunday action. Three teams remain, with Windsor meeting the undefeated team, Toronto on Monday at 9:00 a.m. A victory will put all three teams at 4-1 and a draw will be conducted for the bye to the finals. A Windsor loss, will eliminate them.

Midget Selects 1-1 at Ontario Elimination Tournament
The Windsor Midget Selects have posted a 1-1 record at the Ontario Midget Elimination tournament. They defeated Waterloo 7-2 last evening and suffered a 6-4 loss to Mississauga North today. The Selects then drew a bye to the next round and will face Mississauga Majors tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

UNRELENTING RAIN FORCES CANCELLATION OF WISEMAN TOURNAMENT
Tournament organizers regretfully announced the cancellation of the Wiseman Tournament for the first time in its 14 year history. The decision was made late this morning after taking a heavy hit of thunderstorms over night followed by a downpour during this mornings games. Fields already saturated by a week of rain, could not take much more. The extended weather outlook for the rest of the weekend did not look promising.

HEAVY RAIN HITS WINDSOR AREA FORCING TOURNAMENT DELAYS
Heavy rain hit the Windsor area late this afternoon delaying the start of the Wiseman Tournament and forcing the cancellation of games scheduled at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh. The four teams involved, Tecumseh Thunder, Mississauga S.W., Troy Jet Box & Brampton Battlecats will make up the games tomorrow. Further schedule changes also had to be made as a result of Naked Bat pulling out of the tournament at the last minute. Results to date are as follows;

Stars Win Oshawa Senior Tournament
The Windsor Stars captured the Oshawa Senior Tournament on the weekend, posting a 5-0 record. They defeated Kingston 7-1, Newmarket 4-3, St. Catharines 6-2, Erindale 11-1 and the host Oshawa 4-3 in 8 innings, to capture the tournament.

CANADA QUALIFIES FOR THE OLYMPICS
Canada qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, with a 4-3 win over Korea yesterday. Today's 2-1 win over Germany boosted Canada's overall Olympic Qualifier Tournament record to 6-1. Canada's road to the Olympics included victories over Korea, Chinese Taipei, Spain, Mexico, Germany & South Africa.

Can-Am League sets 2008 season
The 2008 Can-Am League will consist of six teams, Windsor Stars, Troy Jet Box, Windsor A.A., Detroit Metro Tigers, Tecumseh Thunder & Windsor Junior Selects. The Woodslee Orioles have temporarily taken a one year sabbatical. The schedule will consist of a slate of 30 games, with a number of weekend affairs and playoffs being nine inning contests. The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs.
