Welcome to the home page of the MCSA MetroStars. We are an upcoming boys U15 (Fall 2006) travel soccer team with MCSA (Mid-County Soccer Association) which is located in Manassas, Virginia. The MetroStars will be participating in Division 2 of NCSL (National Capital Soccer League) and our state governing body is VYSA (Virginia Youth Soccer Association).
MetroStars hail from Manassas, Woodbridge, Dumfries, Montclair, Broad Run, Fredericksburg and Stafford. Our "home fields," are at the Valley View Complex in Nokesville right off Valley View Drive and George Hellwig Memorial Park, which is located at the intersection of Dumfries Road (Rt. 234) and Bristow Road (Rt. 619).

TOURNAMENTS
2007 VIRGINIAN SOCCER TOURNAMENT
The MCSA MetroStars have been accepted to participate in the 32nd annual Virginian to be played May 26-28, 2007. We will be playing in flight A of the silver division. CLICK HERE to visit the tournament website for The Virginian.
The teams in Flight A are the Washingtonville Tornadoes (NY), Plymouth Sharks (PA), CYA Clash (VA), and the MCSA MetroStars; teams in Flight B consists of the CSA Patriots (MD), Staten Island United Redbulls (NY), SYA Copperheads (VA), and the Wyckoff Torpedoes (NJ); and teams in Flight C are the ALEX Titans (VA), McLean Raptors (VA), Oshawa Turuls (Canada), and FC Revolution (PA).

2007 PWSI ICEBREAKER CHAMPIONS
The MetroStars participated in PWSIs 12th Annual Prince William Soccer Icebreaker. We played in the premier B bracket and facing teams like GSC Tap America, Patriots and FC Roma. KICKERS CLUB INVITATIONAL 2007
The MetroStars participated in the Richmond Kickers first invitational tournament on March 3-4. The games were played at Woodlake in Chesterfield. The weather was extremely cold and windy. This weekend was the first time the team stepped on a soccer field together since last season. The boys showed very well this tournament for it to be their first event and time on the pitch. The first game the boys lost against SOCA Lightning 1:0, but the MetroStars had many chances, but could not buy a goal. Then we faced FC Richmond Magic 91 and lost 3:1; and lost the last game 3:0 to Richmond Kickers Elite.
2006 MCSA FALL CLASSIC SEMI-FINALIST
The MetroStars participated in our clubs 9th annual soccer tournament, the MCSA Fall Classic 2006, to be held on November 18th and 19th, 2006. The MetroStars played in "Flight A" of the "Gold" bracket.
Due to the rains that came through the area on Thursday, the tournament committee has met and has changed the schedules/venues to get in the games. Saturday games will be shortened games. We will play two 15-minute halves.

PWSI 2006 SOCCER INVITATIONAL PREMIER CHAMPIONS
The MetroStars participated in the 11th annual Prince William Soccer Invitational 2006 held on Sept 3, 2006. Due to Hurricane Ernesto closing most of the areas fields, PWSI made a genuine effort to get the games played. In order to accomplish this, games were shortened to 35 minutes. All games in our bracket were played in one day at Tyrrell Park.
The boys came out the first game a bit anxious and lost 1:0 to the BAC Bombers. The second game the boys were more calm and defeated Team America 91 Red 3:0. Since everyone in our bracket were 1-1, it went to goal differential, which placed the MetroStars in first of the B bracket. We faced the 2nd place team of the A bracket, PWSI Courage '91 Red and won 2:0.
Richmond Magic, 1st in the A bracket faced the BAC Bombers (2nd in the B bracket) and tied 0:0. After the shoot-out, the BAC Bombers were victorious. The MetroStars faced the BAC Bombers once again in the finals. The boys were ready for this re-match and won 1:0 in a hard-fought final.
The MetroStars participated in Beach FCs 9th Annual Sun Cup Soccer Tournament held on August 19-20, 2006. The first game was on Sat, Aug 19, at 8:00 a.m. where we defeated the Legacy SC Va Legacy Wizards (VA) 2:0, then we didn't play again until 4:20 p.m. where we tied FCH Hamblett (VA) 0:0. On Sun, Aug 20, we played at 9:30 a.m. against Beach FC United and lost 3:2, then we finished the games by defeating Triangle United TUSA 91B Silver (NC) 2:1.
Playing location: All games were played at the new Princess Anne Park fields. Maps are located at www.beachfc.com (select field locations). The new Princess Anne Park fields are located on Dam Neck Road just past the old Princess Park.

U15 2006-07 VYSA STATE CUP
Round of 32: The MetroStars first round in the 2006-07 VYSA State Cup was held on Sat., Sept.23, against the Athletic Club of Norfolk (ACN) Zico at 3:00 p.m. at Hampton Roads Soccer Complex. The MetroStars started off a bit uneasy and the Zicos were able to put in the first goal early in the first half. After the game went on, the boys settled down and were able to get an equalizer in the second half. After two 40-minute halves the game ended in a 1:1 tie, thus going into two 15 minute overtimes. During the first 15-minute OT, the MetroStars put in a goal to go up 2:1 and in the second 15-minute overtime the boys put in two more goals, winning the game 4:1.
Round of 16: The second round was held on Sat., Sept. 30, at 2:00 p.m. against Great Falls 91 Crew at Bull Run. The boys played an awesome game. After two halves of great soccer by both teams, the game eneded in a 0:0 tie. The game went into overtime and in the second OT period, with eight mintures left, the Crew put in a goal from a corner kick. What an exciting game to watch. Either team could have won.

The MetroStars are always seeking serious soccer players. Interested players born after August 1, 1991, need to call Coach Andy at (540) 752-4335 to set up a tryout, and are encouraged to attend practices to give us an opportunity to check out your skills.
