HORNETS WIN 1st ROUND BUT LOSE TO CANTON IN QUARTER FINALS
The Hornets played a fantastic, come from behind game against Quincy in Round 1 by overcoming a 2 deficit and winning 4-3. Goals were scored by Jon DiFlaminies, Will Gasson, Shane Harrington, and Donny Washburn. All Star goalie Ryan Kershaw made 34 saves.
We weren't so fortunate Saturday in Bourne, losing to rival Canton in the quarter final round, 3-0. The hard fought game was much closer than the final score would indicate.

HORNETS SWARM BELLINGHAM 9-1
The Hornets were in high gear in their win over Bellingham 9-1. Brendan Carroll and Will Gasson both scored hat tricks and Dan Saltzman also had a 3-point game with a goal and 2 assists. Mike Antonelli and Greg O'Brien scored one goal each. Meg Birnie has a great assist on "Saltzie's" goal. The defense of Roche, O'Brien, Liddick, Mattus, DeGirolamo, and Oser and goalies Kershaw and Thornton once again allowed only 1 goal. Jay Thornton was perfect in goal in the 3rd period stopping all 8 shots he faced.

HORNETS COME UP SHORT AGAINST FRANKLIN 4-2
Once again the Hornets found themselves playing from behind as their comeback from a 3-0 deficit fell 2 goals short against first place Franklin. Goals by Shane Harrington, assisted by Taylor Mattus, and David Roche, assisted by Drew Rumbel, early in the 3rd period pulled the Hornets back to within a goal. But a late goal by Franklin put the game out of reach.

HORNETS BACK ON TRACK WITH 4-1 WIN OVER FOXBORO
After 2 tough losses the Hornets bounced back with a total team effort to beat Foxboro 4-1. Goals were scored by Brendan Carroll (2), Donny Washburn, and Will Gasson. Dan Liddick's crushing check of an unfortunate Foxboro Warrior late in the game gave notice that the Hornets are back and ready to play "old-time hockey" as the tournament draws near. Another great night in goal for Ryan Kershaw allowing just one power play goal.
