ASAP Improves Within East Region
Outstanding!!! Little League's East Region improves ASAP percentage by 4%!!! A true testament to all of the individuals; Presidents, Safety Officers, League Officials, Parents and District Administrators who have shown that safety is our #1 priority within this program! Absolutely terrific!!!!
The East Region reached it's highest percentage within ASAP's history...achieving 71% overall ASAP participation. This is up from the 2006 season where the East Region was at 67% across the eleven states (this former percentage was 3rd comparison to the four other regions within the United States).
Yes, the Region improved by 4%...and that's not to mention that the East Region is the largest in population of number of leagues and children participating throughout the country. It should be noted that even though we are not currently the highest percentage of overall leagues participating within ASAP, we have the highest number of leagues participating within the Program (the reason that the percentage is not recognized as the highest is for the simple fact that we have the greatest number of leagues). The West Region remains with the highest percentage, 88%. The South comes in second with 77% followed by the East, the Central at 69% and Southwest with 68%.
Little League Baseball and Softball has now reached 75% overall participation within ASAP, up from 71% in 2006. As you can see, 75% will now be the benchmark for 2008.
Congratulations to all of you! More importantly, THANK YOU!!!! Stay tuned as in the very near future, I will post every state's former and current percentage as well as percent of improvement. I will also provide you with early planning ideas, techniques, tips and practices to utilize in the upcoming months to get a jump on this process...ensuring that your league children are once again, as safe as possible! Yes, great improvement...but we can never be complacent with where we are...we MUST improve once again...remember, it's FOR THE CHILDREN!!!
