Helmet Recall
Product Recall: Rawlings Junior Batting Helmets

Categories: Health & safety, Toys & games

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of about 2,300 Rawlings Junior Batting Helmets due to excessive levels of lead in the surface paint.

The recall involves helmets with model number CFHLJR, which can be found on the rear of the helmet. The helmets are yellow and orange with black accents.

The helmets were made in China for Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. and sold at sporting goods retailers nationwide from July 2007 through November 2007 for about $40 each.

If you have one of the recalled helmets, you are advised to stop using it immediately and contact either the store where purchased or Rawlings for a free replacement product. You can reach Rawlings by calling (800) 729-5464 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or by visiting their Web site.
