Undefeated U 14 Girls Soccer Team Wins PAGS Championship
The Lansdowne Lightning U14 Travel Soccer Team recently completed their Fall 2007 season as the undefeated champions. Competing in the Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer (PAGS) Division 3, their record was 10-0-1. Coach Fred Mirarchi and Coach Chuck Cavanagh have spent 5 years selecting and training this team. The defense, led by Goalies Sarah Bourke and Brianna McGrory allowed only 5 goals throughout the season. They shut out their opponents in 7 of their 11 games due to the determination and speed of their defensive players: Katie Hild, Stephanie Wendling, Carolyn Finnegan, Kelly Milligan, Siena Oropollo and Taylor Newman. The work horses of the team, the mid field, fueled both the offensive and defensive lines. Forwards Carly Mirarchi, Sarah Bourke and Brianna McGrory along with the midfielders: Meghan Wheatley, Kat Repetto, Molly McDougall, Shannon Mitchell, Paige McCaughey, Nicole Costa and Kathy Flanagan scored 25 goals throughout the season.
The Lightning was re-matched with the Boyertown Storm (their only tie of the season) in the playoffs, defeating them 4-0 to move into the Championship round. They defeated the West Mont Lasers 1-0 to capture their Division title. This total team effort allowed the Lightning to complete this perfect season.
Congratulations !!

U13 Boys Finish 2nd in Delco Soccer
The Boys U13 Delco Travel soccer team coached by Mike McDevitt and Bill Auve had a great year, they came in second place in their regular season and finished as runners up in their championship game against Cecil County. Keepers Jeff Quinn and Pat Lutes kept goals to a minimum throughout the season. On defense, AJ Camarota as sweeper along with defenders Alan (Mickey) Howells, Michael Coyle, Patrick Devine, Ryan Devlin and Pat Vanderslice helped keep the pressure off of the goalies. Midfielders Andrew Doran, Jim Welischek, Peter Callahan and Seamus Moran worked hard throughout the season to help feed the offense with goal scoring opportunities. The strikers, Tommy McDevitt, Sean Million, Kevin Hamlet and Billy Auve were the goal scoring machines to help put Lansdowne into the finals.
