Lanier routs Atkinson 38-8 on Homecoming
LAKELAND — Lanier County picked up 326 yards of total offense, 246 on the ground, and scored five touchdowns in a 38-8 victory over Atkinson County in Friday’s Homecoming game at Roquemore Field.
Chavartae Raymond ran for 62 yards and a touchdown for Lanier. Bulldogs quarterback Josh McFather passed for 82 yards and threw touchdown passes of 32 yards to Anthony Ethridge and 50 yards to Malachi Payne. Dakota Flanders scored on a 17-yard run, and Lance Davis returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown.
Lanier’s defense held Atkinson to negative -69 total yards rushing, and sacked the quarterback nine times. The Bulldogs improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in region 1A-A.
