You seem to have issues with many coaches, yet only named one in both of your emails. I did not see your name or your son's name mentioned only Roger Rotunno's name because "you do not like him". Perhaps you should find a more mature way to deal with your dislike for a man who volunteers many hours of his time to coach our kids (even your son lies him). Please stop smearing his name- it only makes you look bad. Perhaps you might consider any/all of the following:
1. speak to Roger face to face.
2. volunteer to coach your son so you can be the role model that you want for him.
3. attend a board meeting and speak in person about your concerns.
4. If none of the above appeals to you then you might want to consider pulling your son out of the league as you mentioned in your initial email.

To all who have responded to my email - my son does not need to toughen up - he is quite tough, thankyou. This has nothing to do with my son. Oh by the way he actually likes coach Roger. I am the one who doesn't like him. So direct your emails to me, not my son. This has to do with how a coach is treating umpires - calling calls that are not correct, and how he intiminated one of our other players during a game that quite a few people witnessed. I think that is what I orignally wrote about.

It continues to amaze me the number of coaches who should not be coaching. Just last night I witnessed another coach swear two times while on the field.

I also think it is comical that if all of these coaches are so good, why don't they know the rules? We actually had coaches the other night say they did not know when a pitcher hits a batter two times in a row they are supposed to be taken out!!! And these were coaches who have coached many times before.

Again, my issue is with how we act regarding the lessons we teach very impressionable kids.

let's just all try to keep our cool, not intimidate and actually teach kids good sportsmanship in addition to how to be competitive. Believe me no one is more competitive than me - it is all about winning - but in a way that does not sacrifice sportsmanship, manners and common sense.

LVTB is lucky to have a volunteer coach and board member like Roger Rotunno. His energy and enthusiasm for baseball is contagious as he constantly dialogues with his players during the game. Although some opposing teams may find this difficult to listen to, especially if they are losing, I have never heard Roger say anything negative to an opposing team member. In fact, I have heard him congratulate opposing team members after a good play. It is not uncommon for a struggling pitcher to have to come out of a game at this level, but the opposing team's coach cannot be held responsible for that.

Personally, I think Coach Roger is one of the best coaches in the league. I wish he was coaching my children from the beginning. I have no issues with his coaching style or gametime enthusiasm. Although, being on an opposing team can be hard, since he is a winner and almost always shows results.

I wanted to respond to the comment about Coach "Rotunno". You do not have a clue about the way Roger coaches his players. He strives to give the players the best and all that he can, whether it is picking them up for a game, because they don't have rides or giving everyone of his players a chance to play every position on the field so they know what they are good at. My son is PROUD to have a coach like Roger, maybe your son needs to toughen up, it's a cruel world out there, there aren't to many good coaches like Roger out there.

I have a complaint about Roger Rotundo. It is appalling to me that the league allows this man to coach and teach our children. I have observed him at two different games now where he has intimidated the umpires, shouted calls from the sidelines that are wrong and them has gotten in the face of the umpire, until the reverse the call. At one game he intimidated our pitcher - an 11 year old child! - to the point that he just could not even pitch anymore. How do we allow a man like this to be on the board and coach? We are thinking of going to another league because of this.
