Kentucky USA Wrestling Mission Statement
 
The objective of Kentucky USA Wrestling is to promote wrestling at all levels throughout the State of Kentucky and to ensure the continuation of and improvements upon opportunities for safe competition with exposure to various styles of wrestling. It is the intent of KY USA Wrestling to meet these objectives by creating opportunities in wrestling for competitors of all ages and along with their coaches, parents, and fans encourage their continued participation in the sport as they advance through their lives. Kentucky USA Wrestling provides physical and emotional well-being through the sport of wrestling for its members and volunteers.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Kentucky USA Wrestling is a non-profit organization that promotes wrestling in Kentucky. Our primary goals are to inform and educate the public about the sport of wrestling and to increase the number of wrestlers in the state. We strive to improve the quality of Kentucky Wrestling by offering organized tournaments and camps to prepare wrestlers for competition at the national level. We promote Folk-Style, Freestyle, Greco Roman, Sombo, and Beach Style wrestling.

Kentucky USA Wrestling is an affiliate of USA Wrestling, which is the national governing body for international style amateur wrestling in the United States. We are the designated representative for USA Wrestling in the state of Kentucky. It is our responsibility to carry out the guidelines and directives as set forth by USA Wrestling in the administration of this state.

COACHING
Coaches are the backbone of athletics. In the eyes of the athlete, the coach has many roles such as being the disciplinarian, role model, leader, psychologist, friend, parent substitute, and sometimes the life management advisor. However, the coach as the professional has other roles such as manager, teacher, coordinator, recruiter, trainer, fund raiser, public relations person, strategist, and tactician. Coaches pull in various disciplines and teams to work synergistically to yield an effective and efficient team of athletes.
