Keystone Volleyball Club / KVC
Keystone Volleyball Club, the Club is designed to provide young athletes with the opportunity to maximize their potential in the sport of volleyball. Keystone Volleyball Club is a member of the Keystone Regional Volleyball Association of the USAV. The Director of the Club is Bob Hall.
Club Philosophy
Keystone Volleyball Club is committed to providing athletes with the best
possible opportunities to develop and improve their playing standards through
high-quality practices and high-level competition. The Club believes in helping young athletes achieve their potential and advance to the highest level of performance in high school and college.
At Keystone Volleyball Club, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive
attitude are expected from every player and coach. These are essential steps to
success!
Financial Commitment
Each player is required to pay a set membership fee while she participates. (Our Club does give a discount to families with more than one sibling playing in the Club in the same year). Various expense factors will affect the cost. All the figures in the budget are estimates. There is no guarantee there will not be increases due to circumstances beyond club control. The fee includes, but is not limited to, the cost of equipment, facility rental, uniforms, USAV membership fees, staff salaries, paid positions, and miscellaneous items ~ Beginning in December, you will receive monthly financial statements updating your daughter's account.
Time Commitment
The Club season usually runs from December through June, with practices beginning in late November and early December. Players will be expected to make a commitment to attend practices and competitions scheduled by the club. Advanced practice and competition schedules for the season will be given to each participant. It is expected that by having advanced schedule information, that the athletes and families can keep conflicts to a minimum. While each team may have a different schedule, in general, each participant will practice at least two times a week with competitions held on the weekends.
Club Rules
While representing Keystone Volleyball Club all athletes are expected to behave in a responsible manner. Any athlete damaging equipment owned by Keystone Volleyball Club or any facility used by the Club during practices, tournaments, functions, or lodging facilities will be required to reimburse the Club and/or facility for the damages. In some cases, the athlete may be dismissed from the Club.
An athlete with a delinquent account during the current season may be denied the privilege of playing in a tournament and/or asked to sit out at practice until the account is paid or arrangements are made with the Club Director. The athlete's current season's account must be paid in full before the athlete is allowed to participate in any tournaments.
Practice Rules
Scheduled practice time is START time and NOT ARRIVAL time. Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the start of each practice. All athletes are expected to make every effort to attend every practice. If an athlete misses practice, her playing time may be affected. An athlete must make every effort to contact her Coach before the practice time, if she is unable to attend.
Tournament Rules
All athletes are expected to be in the gym, ready for warm-up, at the scheduled arrival time as determined by the Coach. This usually means arriving at the site at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. ALL team members are expected to be available to be on the "work team" when the team is scheduled.
Proper conduct is expected for all members of the Keystone Volleyball Club family at all times. This includes athletes, parents, and supporters. This also means treating all officials with respect.
If an athlete cannot be at a tournament, the athlete is expected to call the Coach as soon as the athlete knows she will be absent. It is the athlete's responsibility (NOT THE PARENT'S) to reach the Coach before the tournament.
What if an Athlete Plays Other Sports?
School sports and activities are an integral part of scholastic experience. However, it is recommended that if an athlete is going to miss more than 20% of practices due to other obligations, those families should reconsider participation in this volleyball program. Missing significant amount of practices does not make it cost effective for the families and makes it very difficult to build team chemistry and team cohesion at a competitive level.
Keystone Volleyball Club requires dedication on the part of the athlete for the team to be a success. This means that missed practices could result in forfeiture of playing time. Playing time for athletes is based on attendance, attitude, performance, the athlete’s potential, the team’s needs at the moment, and the team’s needs in the future.
