Update on KLL Registration:

Kerrisdale Little League Players and Parents: Registration for 2008 is now closed and we will not be accepting any more players. All those players on the waitlist will be placed on a team although it may not be in the division in which they registered.

We are very pleased this year to see a significant increase in the number of players registered. Our total this year is over 530 as compared to 420 last year. Thank you to all who have registered. We encourage everyone to get involved so that our league will continue this impressive growth.

Drafts have been held for our Major A and Major B teams. The coaches in these two divisions will be contacting their players soon if they have not already done so. Players in Minor A, Minor B, T-Ball and Blastball will be placed on teams by the coordinators. These teams will be set by the end of March with players being notified very shortly thereafter.

Play will be scheduled to begin in all divisions starting the week of April 14th. Game schedules will be out by April 7th at the latest. The Opening Day Parade is Saturday April 26 and Photo Day is the following day. Blastball, T-ball and Minor B teams play one game per week which will be scheduled Monday through Friday. There are no practices for Blastball and T-Ball. Minor B teams will usually practice once on the weekend at a time set by the coach.

Blastball games will be played at Quilchena (33rd and 1 block east of Arbutus). T-Ball games will be played at Maple Grove Park (51st and Balsam) with Grade One teams playing on the south diamond and Kindergarten teams playing on the new north diamond. Minor B games will be played at Kerrisdale Park (east of and behind Kerrisdale Arena).

Minor A teams will play 1 or 2 games per week scheduled any day of the week. They will also have one practice per week at a time set by the coach. Minor A games will be played at Quilchena North but there will be one Minor A game per week scheduled at Elm Park.

Major A and Major B teams will play 2 or 3 games per week scheduled any day of the week. They will also have at least one practice per week at times set by the coach. All Major A games will be played at Elm Park (41st and Elm). Major B games will be played at Quilchena South but there will be games played at Elm Park.

Elm Park, and Quilchena North and South will be set up on Saturday, April 12th. All volunteers are needed and welcomed. A more detailed e-mail will be sent out closer to that date.

A coaching clinic for all coaches in the Majors and Minors will be held on April 10th at 6 pm at the Mizuno School of Baseball at UBC. Coaches, please mark this date in your calendars.

Lastly, all players must have their own baseball glove and batting helmet. As well, baseball cleats are mandatory in both Majors divisions and are encouraged in Minor A and Minor B. The Sports Exchange at 6th and Burrard has some very good deals on all these items. In particular, for the younger players, they offer an exceptional package consisting of a helmet, glove, cleats and a batting glove for $45!

If you have any questions, please send us an e-mail at info@kerrisdalebaseball.com

We look forward to seeing you at our ballparks!
