We hope everyone is exicted about the upcoming 2008 season! The IGHSF board members are working hard to help make 2008 a success so check back to the website often for updates regarding spring training, clinics, season registration and try-outs. The IGHSF organization offers the support and development of fastpitch softball at the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U levels to play competitive traveling softball in the MMFL league. Due to huge success last year, the Little Spartan league will be back this year. Little Spartans is a non-traveling league for the ages of 6 - 9 years of age. The summer season traveling leagues begin in May and conclude in mid-July. Fall ball leagues are also offered with play on Sunday afternoons in August and September. This is the ideal program to begin your daughterRegistration: Register through the Inver Grove Heights Park and Rec Season Fee: $65.00 Cost includes: shirt, visor, sessions and year end party! Parents to provide: Cleats, glove, and helmet w/mask & chin strap Season Dates: Start date: Saturday, May 17th, 2008 End date: Saturday, July 19th, 2008 (no sessions Saturday 5/28 or 7/5 due to holidays) Ages: 4-5-6 9:30-10:45AM & 7-8-9 10:45-Noon Weekly Schedule: Weekly sessions to be held at the Simley High School Varsity Softball Field Program Objective: To ease our young ball players into competitive fast pitch softball. We will work on all basic mechanics including; hitting, fielding, base running, and general fast pitch rules. Ideal preparation for future participation in the IGHSF traveling fastpitch program! Great for first timers and those with a little experience already under their belt!
