  Welcome

We are a tournament caliber Premier baseball team featuring some of the best players from the Huguenot Little League in Midlothian Virginia. We play against AAU, USSSA, Babe Ruth, and Little League teams. The organization was first formed in 1998. We offer our boys an opportunity to experience greater challenges in baseball competition and greater opportunities for learning the game. Our mission statement includes playing tournaments on a state and regional level as well as playing the top local teams.

The first group of Trailblazers produced several outstanding high school players - many of whom have received baseball scholarships. Our second group of Trailblazers recently completed a very successful four years with a record of 120 wins and only 39 losses to go along with 8 tournament championships. The third installment of Huguenot Trailblazers began playing in the Fall of 2007. This new group will maintain the reputation and level of play as the Trailblazers before them.

Thanks for visiting our site.

Six Trailblaxers moving on to Division I baseball

Six Trailblazers will be playing Division I baseball in 2008/2009 as follows:

Jake Lowery    JMU

Brent Mikionis   VCU

Ryan Mallory    University of Richmond

Austin Stadler   Wake Forest

Daniel Marrs     Wake Forest

Jack Cleary     Maryland

Most organizations would be thrilled to have one former player move on to play baseball at any collegiate level.  To have six (6) players moving on to Division I is truly remarkable!  A lot of work was required to acheive this result - not only by the players - but also by the coaches and parents!  Congratulations and kudos to everyone!

Stadler Recognized as Pre-Season All-American
Austin Stadler has been recognized by Collegiate Baseball magazine as a first team Louisville Slugger Pre-Season All-American in its list published in its January 25 edition.  One of only two Virginians so named, the multi-talented southpaw made the list as a pitcher after a 2007 campaign in which he compiled an outstanding 1.29 ERA, his unblemished 12-0 record capped off by his masterpiece complete game victory in the state championship finale.
Collegiate Baseball indicates that its selections are based on research conducted after receiving nominations from high school coaches.

Trailblazers Win Cove Creek Tournament
The Huguenot Trailblazers won the 10th annual Cove Creek Classic with big wins over the Central Virginia Hurricanes 12-4, GSA all-stars 10-0, Herndon all-stars 11-4, Virginia Vipers 10-3 and the Richmond Bombers 15-2. All the Trailblazers contributed. There was great pitching (5 pitchers combined on a no-hitter), fielding, aggressive base running, but mostly a continual pounding of the baseball. Great tournament guys.

Ripken Fall Classic
Trailblazers Win Ripken Tournament
The Trailblazers finished an exciting weekend by beating the BCC Bombers and winning the Ripken Fall Classic Championship game 13-3. What a weekend. The Trailblazers started off Saturday morning against the Lionville Pride. The boys were excited to be playing on Fenway field. Mac Caples and Tyler Carrico went back to back over the Green Monster as the Trailblazers won the opener 11-1. The second game of the day was a great ball game. Trey Rose pitched 7 hard innings. The boys could not shake the BCC Bombers and subsequently lost 4-3 in 9 innings. The Trailblazers started Sunday with a chance for the playoffs. They needed to win but could not give up more than 3 runs. Cole Ceperich, Porter Reinhart and Eric Mayo held the Catonville Cubs to 3 runs as the Trailblazers won 8-3. It now was down to tie breakers. It came to the last tie breaker, a coin toss. The Trailblazers took heads and won. This brought yet another game with the Richmond Bombers. The Trailblazers started off slow and trailed early 12-3. The Trailblazers then took a patient disciplined approach to every at bat and slowly fought back in the game. Triggered by clutch at bats from Eric Mayo, Porter Reinhart, Luke Lowery, Mac Caples, Tyler Carrico, and then a big blast from Nathan Kirby, the Trailblazers tied the game 12-12. Conner Melton put the Trailblazers ahead for good, then shut down the Richmond Bombers as the Trailblazers won 17-12. The championship game would be a rematch of an earlier game. The BCC Bombers would be the last obstacle for the Trailblazers. Gregory Mehfoud and Conner Melton shut down a potent Bombers offense limiting them to 4 hits and 3 runs. The story of this game was small ball. Bo Nahstoll started the offense with a simple hit to left. Then, after a few walks and Colton Konvicka's perfect suicide squeeze, the Trailblazers were ahead 5-2. The next inning provided more of the same excitement; a single, a walk, a hits batsman another squeeze, a slash bunt, a hit to left and next thing we knew, the Trailblazers had mounted a 13-3 lead. Conner Melton was awarded the Championship game MVP. The tournament MVP went to all the boys as they all stepped up big when called upon. Special mention goes out to Bryan Miltenberger who has been out with a broken thumb. We look forward to your return. Great job boys.

Trailblazers Moving On, New Group to Follow
The Huguenot Trailblazers graduated its second class of ball players this past summer. The original Trailblazers are setting the standard for those to follow. Six Trailblazers helped lead James River High School to the state's number one ranking as well as the #9 ranking Nationally (Baseball America) and the Central Region championship as well as the State Championship. Three other Trailblazers played leadership roles for their high school teams. We expect at least five of our original Trailblazers to play for Division I programs when they graduate in 2008. Congratulations goes out to Jake Lowery, Ryan Mallory and Austin Stadler for not only making the all Central Region Team but more importantly for being named to the all Academic Team.

Our second group of Trailblazers have the potential to exceed the success of their predecessors. We wish them well and look forward to their success.

Our next generation of Trailblazers will begin in the Fall of 2007. Hopefully this group will continue the tradition.

Trailblazers Win Memorial Weekend Tournament
Memorial Day 05
Huguenot Trailblazers, Memorial Day 2005
The Trailblazers put it all together and won the Second Annual Memorial Weekend Tournament. The Trailblazers used the long ball (6 home runs), small ball, great pitching and clutch plays in the field to win 4 games and claim the crown. The Trailblazers started the weekend by outlasting the Richmond Bombers 8-3. Next up for the Trailblazers were the Prince William Express. This is a top ranked team from Northern Virginia. The game started slow for the Trailblazers as they trailed 2-0 after the top half inning. The Trailblazers came back and thanks to a key bunt took the lead and never looked back, winning 12-2. The Trailblazers then faced the James River Dawgs. The Trailblazers ousted the Dawgs 8-3. The finals put the Trailblazers against the Upper Deck Baseball Club. The Trailblazers outslugged Upper Deck to win 9-2. This was a great tournament for the boys. Every player had a key contribution somewhere in the tournament to assist in the tournament title. Every player received a tournament game ball. A special thanks goes out to the former Trailblazers coaches and players present and cheering. A very special thanks goes to all the parents and volunteers that made this all possible, especially Ann Hillsman.

Trailblazers Repeat Champs at Cove Creek
The Huguenot Trailblazers put together an almost flawless defensive performance along with clutch pitching to win their second straight Cove Creek Championship. This was also the third consecutive tournament championship for the Trailblazers.
The Trailblazers opened against the Berrytown Bombers. Trey Rose pitched a great game for the boys. The Bombers jumped off to an early lead 1-0; then, three players came off the bench to tie the game. Luke, Cole and then Porter all delivered singles to even the score 1-1. The Bombers led off the bottom of the 5th with home run to take the lead 2-1. Mac led off the 6th with a hit then Tyler delivered the big blow with a home run to right. Gregory scored the last run on Conner's double to left. Trailblazers win 4-2.
Bryan, Tyler, Mac and Cole combined to pitch a 2- hitter as the Trailblazers beat the Herndon all-stars 4-1 in the final game of pool play. Porter was the hitting star going 3 for 3.
The first game of championship Sunday was against the Gaithersburg all-stars. Cole, Mac and Tyler teamed to hold GSA to 3 hits and 1 run. The Trailblazers took an early lead with Eric's triple and then Mac's 2 run home run. Colton scored the final run in a 3-1 victory.
The Trailblazers faced a strong Pasadena team in the semi-finals. Nathan struck out 7 and held the visitors to one hit. Mac hit 2 home runs including one that landed on the roof over the play ground. Luke also hit a home run. The Trailblazers won 10-0 and advanced to the championship game.
Trey and Eric held a potent Cove Creek team to 6 hits and 3 runs. Conner put the Trailblazers ahead early with a sneaky delayed steal that turned into the first run. Luke, Porter, Trey, Nathan and Conner got hits in the 4th inning to plate 3 more runs. Mac, Tyler and Gregory combined to plate the last 2 runs in the 5th inning. The boys took a 6-1 lead into the 6th inning. Cove Creek rallied late, but 2 plays at home sealed the win for the Trailblazers 6-3. This was a fitting finale for the Trailblazers. This was the last time they will wear green and yellow together. Great tournament, great 4 years, good luck at Coooperstown.

Trailblazers Successfully Defend Title in the 3rd Annual Memorial Day Showdown.
Behind some great pitching, superb hitting and timely defense, the Huguenot Trailblazers were victorious in the 3rd Annual Memorial Day Showdown hosted at their home complex. Notching victories against some very good teams, the Trailblazers allowed only seven runs over four games winning 11 to 3 in the final game against a very good Midlothian Blue Sox team. Emboldened by an emotional visit from former Trailblazer team members, the 12U Trailblazers demonstrated why they are one of the best teams in the state; All 13 team members pitched, all 13 team members batted and all 13 team members played exceptional defense.

Colton Konvicka and Porter Reinhart were “spot on” in their leadoff roles, bringing in Cole Ceperich and Bo Nahstoll who always seemed to find their way on base. Nathan Kirby and Bryan Miltenberger held true to their “battling” nature and made the pitchers work in every at bat. Timely bunting never seems to hurt. Gregory Mehfoud and Conner Melton were always ready to hit and did not disappoint the fans with some good “two strike” hitting. Eric Mayo and Trey Rose offered up timely appearances at the dish and helped their “cause” on more than one occasion. Luke Lowery, Tyler Carrico and Mac Caples all hit balls that would have easily cleared the “outer limits” on smaller fields…WOW. Special mention to the “battery” in the final game as Trey Rose pitched a complete game with just over 60 pitches in six innings, supported as always, by “rock solid” catching by Luke Lowery…on to the post season, Cove Creek, and Cooperstown.
