League Meeting April 24th - Tournament
We have scheduled a meeting for Tuesday the 24th of April at 8:10 at St.Catherines School in Georgetown South. Take the 9th line to Argyll, turn (east) and the school is on the first street past the A & P. Turn right and go into the school. Enter the doors to the far north/east of the school.
It would be great if one representative from each family could attend so that we can have everyone information and involved. If anyone has any contacts for the food, we would love to hear from you.
I will have a list of jobs that need attention and hopefully we will have everything filled.
See you on Tuesday evening!

WHAT IS AN ATHLETE?
It's not about getting a scholarship, or making Sports Centre. It's a deep need in us that comes from the heart. We need to practice, to play, to hustle, to sweat. We do it all for our teammates. You cheer for us because you know us. You know more than just our names. When we miss a ball or strike out, we don't let down an entire country. We only let down our teammates, coaches, and family. But the hurt is still the same. We train hard, we run, throw, swing, and run some more. It's about pride--in ourselves, in our team. It's about our love and passion for the game. And when it's over, when we walk off that field for the last time, our hearts will crumble. Those tears are real. But deep down inside, we are very proud of ourselves.
I am an athlete. I play for the love of the game. For the pride, honor, blood, sweat, and tears it takes to make the team, earn the spot, win the game. I play because I know that my life would be empty without it. I would have a lack of everything the sport gives me: integrity, courage, talent, pride, strength, stamina and the heart of a champion.
I am an athlete. I am a girl. I am a champion, not because my team always wins but because when we don't we learn from our mistakes. I leave everything on the field. I know what it's like to lose, to win, to want to quit, to want to cry, to not want to get up. I know what it's like to feel the pressure on your shoulders. I know what its like to come second, and I never like it. I will clap while those who won get their trophy, but I will always wish it was me.
I know what it means to be an athlete....and that's why I play. I am a girl, I am an athlete, I am a champion. I am a HAWK!
