Heartbreakers Organization
The 18U Heartbreakers Red Junior Olympic fastpitch softball team is one of 6 travel teams in the Heartbreakers Organization. The Heartbreakers were established in 1993 with one 14U team and organization has expanded to have teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U age groups for the 2005 season. Heartbreakers Finish 33rd in ASA Nationals

The Heartbreakers finished 33rd out of 134 teams in the 2007 ASA Nationals. Going into Friday's action, the team was 2-0. However, HB lost to the Jensen Beach Wildcats 4-0. The Wildcats scored 3 times in the first and that was all the offense they needed to win. Taryn Ashway scattered 5 hits and struck out 6 for HB. Katie Renner had 2 hits and Amy Metcalfe had one hit.

HB returned to Texas A&M Softball Stadium for the next game against the Oklahoma Attack. The Attack nursed a 1-0 lead going into the 5th but added 4 runs to provide the final margin of victory. Alicia Brandenburg allowed 5 hits and struck out 7 in the circle. She had 3 wins in the tournament. HB scored their only run in the 5th when Kelsey Mills hammered a ball off the left center field fence and Karson Tuck drove her home with a single. Tuck added another hit and Taylor Wyatt had the other HB hit.

Heartbreakers Lose a Friend, Steve Wilson

On Sunday, October 7, long time Heartbreakers fan Steve Wilson passed away after an 8 month battle with cancer.  In August, Steve and his daughter, Cara, made the trip to College Station to see the Heartbreakers play in the ASA Nationals.  The thoughts and prayers of the Heartbreakers organization go out to the Wilson family.
