2008 Football and Cheer Sign-Ups
The Hayward Youth Football and Cheer League (HYFCL) will begin taking sign-ups on Thursday March 20 at 6pm. This sign-up is open to all. All sign-ups will be held at Sports Plus One in Hayward at the corner of Mission Blvd and Lewelling Blvd. See handout for information on sign-up requirements.

Hayward Lancer All-Stars
On Saturday Dec. 1 the annual SJPAL All-Star games were held at PAL stadium. This annual game pits the American Conference against the national Conference. Hayward is in the National conference. Hayward players had a lot to say in their performances. In the Opener the American all-stars took the victory in the second overtime of play. The JM National all-stars were led to victory on the last play of the game on a hail mary pass from Lancer to Lancer. The PW National all-stars used a frenzy of blitzes to overwhelm the Americans. In the nightcap the JPW Nationals had two touchdowns by the Lancers and cruised to victory.

********CONGRATULATIONS HAYWARD LANCERS!!!*********
The 2007 Season was a great success. Congratulations to all the young men and women who participated in the Hayward Lancers program this season. It has been nearly four months since that first practice in July. There were just a bunch of individuals out there. All of those individuals grew into teams, cooperating with one another, going to battle for each other, experiencing the joy of success and the heartbreak that a loss can bring. Teamwork, self discipline, and sportsmanship lessons for life. Thanks to all of the Coaches and volunteers who gave their time to provide instruction and leadership to our youth.

Lady Lancers strut their stuff
The Lady Lancers performed great at the Anual San Jose PAL Cheer Competition at Independence High School on Sunday. The Lancer mascots led the day off with a terrific performance. The Lady Lancer JPWs were sharp in their performance, winning a bronze medal for their efforts and finally the Lady Lancer Ms showed what it is like to be a Lancer with their routine, taking home a bronze medal as well. Congratulations ladies, we are all proud of you!

The Silver and Black pay a visit to Hayward
On Tuesday the Lancers were paid a visit from a pair of the Oakland Raiders newest additions. Johnnie Lee Higgins and Johnathan Holland dropped by the Lancer practice to share some of their experiences in football and answer questions. After they signed autographs, they tossed the ball around with a few of our finest. The Hayward Youth Football and Cheer League would like to thank Johnnie Lee Higgins and Johnathan Holland for their time.
