GYGSA COACH’S CODE OF CONDUCT

 

As a Coach, I recognize that coaches are role models for their team, and that sports help develop a sense of teamwork, self worth and sportsmanship. As a Coach I agree to abide by the following.

 

1.        I will lead by example in demonstrating sportsmanship and fair play to all players before, during and after every game.

2.        I will place the well being of all players over my personal desire to win.

3.        I will treat with respect and will not harass in any manner, all players, opponents, coaches and umpires. I will ensure that players, fans and spectators do the same.

4.        Cursing or foul language will not be tolerated at any time and will lead to immediate expulsion from the ballpark.

5.        I will provide a safe playing environment for all players at practices / games.

6.        I will encourage all players to seek medical advice when required.

7.        I will not drink alcohol, use tobacco, take illegal drugs; nor be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while coaching.

8.        I will be knowledgeable about the rules of the game.

9.        I will not recruit a player that plays for another GYGSA team, except for tournaments when that player’s regular team is not participating.

 

I UNDERSTAND THAT IF I VIOLATE THIS CODE OF CONDUCT OR AM REPSONSIBLE FOR ANY OTHER ACTION THAT IS DETRIMENTAL TO MY TEAM OR GYGSA; THAT I WILL BE SUBJECT TO A RANGE OF CONSEQUENCES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: IMMEDIATE SUPSENSION AND POSSIBLE PROHIBITION FROM FUTURE COACHING WITHIN GYGSA.
