Sunday, July 27 Save the Date - GPW Fundraiser On September 6th 2008 from 5:30-7, at Grafton Elementary School Grafton Pop Warner Cheerleaders will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner for the football teams. Admission is $5 per adult, $3 for kids with a max of $15 per family. More information will follow as the season begins.
A Big Thanks to Fitzy's Car Wash In June the cheerleaders and coaches’ got together and had a fundraiser at Fitzy’s car wash. This is one of a couple fundraisers being done to help offset the extra’s for cheering. The girls were able to raise over $260. Unfortunately, all football players will need to re register as a “New Player,” next year all of your information will be rolled forward and you will not have to re-key data. You can however use the “New Sibling” option that will carry forward names and address details saving you some data entry once a sibling is registered. Important: when entering your credit card information please do not use any spaces or dashes just key the entire number in as (example): 5555555555553333 Once you register a child you will receive a confirmation via email. Where: Municipal Center, Conference Room B When: February 27, 2008 7:00 – 9:00 PM Dear Parent/Guardian, It’s time to register for the Fall 2008 football and cheering season. Attached is the required participant and parent consent form. We must have a completed form for each child planning to participate. You may bring the form to a registration event or you may mail the form to our P.O. Box address listed above. It is very important to include all information on the form, including cell phone numbers and your email address. You will find that email is our primary method of communication with over 200 participants in the Grafton Pop Warner program. Additional required forms will be available at registration or can be downloaded from the Central Mass Pop Warner site: http://www.popwarner.com/admin/forms.asp?lable=forms Please register early as this allows our Coaches and Board of Directors the ability to project out teams at each level, and where necessary look to surrounding towns for additional recruits. We will make every attempt to field teams from Tiny-Mite to Midgets, so please register early. More information about Grafton Pop Warner can be found by visiting our website at http://eteamz.active.com/gpwchiefs/ In August, children from our town will begin football and cheerleading practice to prepare for three months of fun and competition in the fall. Children from ages 5 – 14 are assigned to teams according to strict age, weight, (please see chart below) and ability regulations as set forth and monitored by Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. It is because of these strict rules and regulations, Pop Warner Football enjoys being the safest major youth sport available to our children. Practices will begin August 1, 2008. The first week of practice is for conditioning. Football players should dress in shorts, t-shirt, and football cleats. Cheerleaders should wear shorts or sweats, t-shirt, and sneakers. More information regarding practices will be provided at registration and as the season nears. Registration Fees: Due no later than June 1, 2008 - $25 late fee after this date. Cheerleading - $125.00 Football Tiny Mites - $150.00 Football Mitey Mites - Midgets - $175.00 A discount is given to families with multiple participants
Monday, November 19 End of Year Banquet (Important Change in Location) Our end of the year banquet will be held on December 19th at 6:00 PM at the Marriott Courtyard in Marlborough (75 Felton St). There will be a charge of $5.00 per person. Pasta, salad, and bread will be served for dinner. Please let your Head Coach know how many parties in your family will attend. Please join us for our end of the year event on the 19th.
Monday, November 19 Congratulations to the JPW Squad Congratulations to the JPW squad who competed in the Division II Central Mass Super Bowl yesterday at Gardner High School. A huge crowd was on hand to cheer on the Chiefs. The game was extremely physical. Although the Chiefs fell to the Raiders 14-0 the boys played very tough and fought to the very end. Congratulations boys and we know that you will be back next year competing for a title. The rivalry with the Raiders is certainly growing...
Monday, November 12 JPW's are Super Bowl Bound Congratulations to the Grafton Chiefs JPW Team who defeated the North County Panthers at GHS last Sunday 13-6. The JPW's will now take on the Millbury Raiders for the Central Mass Division II Super Bowl at North County Gardner High School next Sunday November 18th at 9:00 AM. Please come out and support our boys as they compete to bring home the Central Mass Super Bowl Trophy. Although the Midget team lost a tough game to the Worcester Vikings at GHS last Sunday, the boys had another great season and were one game away from capturing another Central Mass Super Bowl trophy. The same group of boys and coaches won the Central Mass Super Bowl at the Jr. Midget last year. The boys finished at the top of there division this year and qualified for the Central Mass Regional play-offs. They have had a great run. Many of the boys from the Midget team will now move onto High School level competition next year. All of at Grafton Pop Warner want to thank these young men for your commitment and dediction to the program. Thanks for making our program such a great success. Monday, November 5 Grafton Pop Warner Chiefs compete in the John Shavers' Bowl at Assumption College Congratulations to the Grafton Chiefs JPW and Midget Pop Warner Teams. Both teams participated in the John Shaver Championships last Saturday November 3rd at Assumption College. Although each team fell a bit short in order to advance to the N.E. Semi-Finals both teams played extremely well and should be very proud of advancing to the Central Mass Regional's. These are the first two teams to ever qualify for the Regional's since our organizations exception in Central Mass. The Chiefs will now be placed in the Central Mass Pop Warner Play-offs. The Chiefs will host two play-off games Sunday November 11th at Grafton High School. Each respected winner will advance to the Central Mass Super Bowl. The JPW's will host the North County Panthers at 10:30 AM and the Midgets will host the Worcester Vikings at 12:00 PM. Please come out and support our teams as they compete to bring home another Central Mass Super Bowl Trophy. |
