Welcome to the Grande Prairie Panther's Website!
Thank you for visiting the Grande Prairie Panther Women's Hockey Club website!! Most of our players reside in the area around Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
We currently play in the Peace Country Female Hockey League. We were fortunate enough to win Provincials at the Senior A level in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2003. At the Western Canadian Shield, we obtained a bronze in 1999 by winning 1-0 against Manitoba in the 4th overtime period. We have been told it was the longest game recorded in female hockey.
In 2000 we won silver, losing to Manitoba literally at the buzzer of the third period and in 2002 we won the bronze medal in overtime against Hockey North. In 2003 and 2004 we captured the gold medal at the Western Canadian Shield.
Last year, we captured Bronze at the AA Provincials. This season, we are hoping to field a strong team which will be a contender for the Provincial title.
Our team ranges in ages from 16 to 30 something. We are the only Senior AA female team in our area, all other teams are Senior B or Recreational. We look forward to playing games at our level or higher and will travel for games and tournaments.
We also invite any players moving to this area to contact us as we are always looking for new talent. If you are a new player or looking for a less competitive team, please contact us and we can assist you in finding a team in the area. Thank you for checking out the Grande Prairie Panther Website!!
