The GFA 91 Crew under the direction of Coach Ed Beach captured the U-15 Chesapeake Division Championship of the 2007 Adidas Potomac Memorial Soccer Tournament. The Crew went 5-0 against quality competition from Region 1 opponents. In group play the Crew defeated Lynbrook East Rockaway Magic from New York 2-1, West Hartford Premier from Connecticut 1-0, and Phantoms FC from New Hampshire 4-1. The tournament semi-finals were a replay of the Fall 2006 OBGC Capital Cup finals against a very solid Virginia Rush Nike team but the Crew survived wearing down the Rush 1-0 under a hot spring sun. The finals matched the Crew against Maryland's MSC Revolution who had recently tied the Crew in NCSL play two weeks earlier. But, this time the Crew used possession to control the match with the boys level of play clearly better this time around. The boys probably played their best match in recent history recording a 2-0 victory that could have been even more lopsided. Next up: the Score at the Shore in Greensboro, NC. Great job guys...you truly showed what you're capable of when the team hits it's stride and plays as a complete unit. Score at the Shore is sanctioned by US Club Soccer and their summer showcase is held in conjunction with their national championship. Unlike other tournaments, teams are not placed into flights before the tournament so every team has an opportunity to win the championship. Score at the Shore is considered the 8th most competitive boys event in the US by Got Soccer. GFA 91 Crew Finish Fall 2006 Season Undefeated! The GFA 91 Crew finished the Fall 2006 season undefeated and in first place in NCSL Division 1. In their first season under Coach Ed Beach the Crew had a record of 7-0-2. Congratulations go out to all the boys on a great team effort! GFA 91 Crew 2006 OBGC Capital Cup Champions The Crew were winners of the U15 Championship division where they faced tough competition from several NCSL division 1 teams. Under the coaching of Ed Beach, the Crew passed through the preliminary rounds with a record of 2 wins (defeating Falls Church PAC 91 White and MSC Badgers) and 1 loss (defeated by Potomac Internationals). The Crew advanced to the final round where they defeated the VA Rush Nike 91 Boys. Congratulations Crew!!! GFA 91 Crew ODP Players The Crew has had several players selected to the VA Northern District OPD team. Many of these players are returning to the ODP program, and some have also been selected to the VA State ODP teams. Congratulations Crew players. Team Accomplishments:
