7-17-08: ***Message from FGSA Equipment Manager***
Managers & Coaches,
ALL softball equipment is to be turned in at the end of Closing Day Ceremonies, on Saturday, July 19th. We will be accepting equipment immediately after the ceremonies over by the FGSA Snack Shack. If you will not be at Closing Day Ceremonies, please make arrangements with Harry Parker to get the equipment turned in.
It is very important the equipment be returned so the league can assess equipments needs prior to the start of the upsoming 2009 season. In the past, managers chose not to turn in their equipment to carry over to the next season. This practice is NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE.
6-22-08: Check out "My Site News" for Fastpitch tips by Softball Instructor Cindy Barstow as featured in website edition of Softball Excellence.
5-11-08: If you missed 2008 Opening Day, don't despair. Go to "Albums" on this website to check out all the fun and frivolity that took place on Opening Day. Catch the Looney Toons battling the Panthers in a YMCA dance off. See if you can spot the "Soulja Boys" dancers, including one special Coach busting a move. Spot the "Misfit." There's even some game action shots. Our thanks to Mariano Rojo & his 14U Heatwave for helping run the Hit-a-Thon with assistance by Board member Micheale Havenhill & crew. Also props to Satellite Entertainment, aka Jim Ferguson for setting the stage for a good time while helping raise money for FGSA. Enjoy...
5-9-08: Go to "Handouts" for the new May 2008 Newsletter in the "Handouts".
Check out the handouts section for an updated current list of Sporting Goods retailers in the Bay Area. These retailers carry equipment from beginners up to professional athletes. These featured stores have personnel who know sporting goods and can set your daughter up with the right equipment based on skill level. Their line of equipment and expertise cater to all athletes! All carry softball & baseball equipment as well as other sports (some have lacrosse!) FGSA neither endorses nor is being compensated by any of these retailers. This is being offered as a helpful aid in searching for the latest in sports equipment.
New 2008 Frequently Asked Questions can be found by clicking on the "Handouts/Forms" section on this website.
A field Map can be downloaded from the "Handouts" section. This map shows fields with their designations as referred to in game schedules.
Blank "Pitching /Position played per inning-Log" can
now be downloaded from the "Handouts/Forms" section.
